You think it's a fairly wide-spread trend for grown men to get extensions put in? :birgits_giggle:

So you feel Hunter and Rogers have not proven themselves yet...but in the same post you talk about them leaving early and how we should prepare for it. If you feel we need to stockpile WRs to replace 2 guys headed for the NFL early with 40 career catches between them...it is YOU who needs to let our coaches coach and stop trying to give your reasons we need 6 WRs in this class. JMO

I respect everybody's opinion. That is fine. No offense taken. Many people feel that way.

I am white and had dreads. I wasn't a failure. And I think I looked damn good. Very badassesque IMO. But again no offense taken. I understand. I received many, many strange looks.

To each their own man. My "hair" is buzzed but have had lucious dirty blonde locks during my soccer years ( would be soccer wouldn't it).

I've actually known quite a few white people through the years that looked good with dreads.

IMO, if there's a player in a paticular class that's a 5 star/freakishly talented/game changer type that CP is supose to be you try for him even if you're loaded at that position because 1)you would rather have him on your sideline rather than on the other teams and/or 2)they bring something special to the party that your other wr's don't -i.e. Croom's size.

It may sound stupid as a consideration, but I have heard coachs say that they will try to take certain players away from rival teams even if that player isn't a huge need for them simply to keep from having to face that player. Of course this also has the added benefit of giving them another great player on their depth chart as well. It's part of why we have the 25 signing/over signing rule now.

And certain guys have things that others don't. It might be leadership or the willingness to be unselfish/a team player. One of the things mentioned about Jilio (sp?) Jones from bama was that he was a good blocker out on the edge. He also had the size to be able to block. If you'll think back to last year and the season before that, we had a lot of trouble running screens and running out on the edge. Everyone focused on our oline and backs, but I would point out that our recievers were also unable/unwilling to put blocks on the lbs and dbs that might have been the difference between a 3 yard loss and an 8 yard gain on a 3rd and 6. Croom has the hight/speed/talent to be a great reciever AND he has the size to be able to go toe to toe with most dbs and probably more than a few lbs. Now I don't know if he has the mental toughness and willingness to make those blocks, but I imagine the coachs are seeing him occupy a safety as Devron Young or Cody Blanc takes that quick screen and busts it for those precious 8 yards and the 3rd down conversion to keep the drive alive.

One last thing. IMO, you always recruit every position every year. You may focus heavier on certain specific positions of need in certain years, but you always try to load up on as much talent as you can every year. The only positions you might bypass depending on your own depth is kicker/punter and fullback.
