People are so fickle. The same people praising Dooley and staff for their evaluations will be the same people that will point out they missed on a kid if they're a lifetime special teamer.

Sometimes coaches make mistakes. It's okay to have doubts and not be a "negavol."

Do you honestly know how stupid comments like these make you look? Coach Dooley and Coach Beamer both watched Cody perform in person and offered him based off that. But you don't think he will be good enough? Do you honestly think Coach Dooley and staff would extend and accept a scholarship to a player who they believed would be a 4-year backup and ST?

If you think your opinion or scouting talents are better than these DI coaches then I think you need to get the hell of this message board and go into coaching.

Regardless of how much you ***** and whine, Cody Blanc is a Vol. He just committed today and it should be his day to celebrate it. So keep these little tantrums you are having to yourself and stop putting them on this message board.

Sometimes it's hard for sarcasm to translate over the Internet. Needed more comments about how Kiffin never would've stooped to this level. :good!:

How do you actually feel about Cody? Not like mission trip Cody or Cody Robinson Cody. . . you get the idea.

This is true to a certain degree. How many potential guys in the secondary are we in that good of shape with?

You take the kid, let him get on campus and if he grows into a starter good. If not, you have a special teamer and a guy that is going to give the ones and twos a good look in practice.

With the shape Tennessee's special teams are in, you should want a kid that's going to be a "career special teamer". If he is, he's better than the overwhelming majority that Tennessee has sent out to cover kick offs and punts the last 5 years.

virginia tech has won a lot of football games with sound special teams play... something we have not had in a long time.

I will say that although I like this kid's potential, his commitment has me looking at the roster to see who's probably gonna leave early and who might be "Sabaned".

I'm really not sure about guys like johnathan jones and tj gurley but I heard we are now in the top two for ladarell mcneal

this is probably going to hurt jmoore's rep here......

but, he seems like one of the more balanced posters to me. he's praised a lot of different prospects. but, he's also given an honest opinion if it's not positive.

but, jmoore has said far more positive things about tennessee commits and prospects than negative.

You don't turn down a kid with good size, good character and 4.4 speed regardless who you're in on. 6'1" 190lbs and 4.4 speed and you guys are b**ching about it? Fools abound today on VN.

If the kid was from FLA, GA or LA you'd tripping all over yourselves to praise this pick up.
