Voytik grew up a fan of Tennessee, and hopes to hear more from them - among others.
"I grew up around the Tennessee campus," Voytik said. "They haven't shown as much interest as some of the others yet, but I hope to hear more from them.

Has Tennessee shown any interest on the QB at Maryville? He was invited to the Army AA Junior Combine. I know he's about 6'6" scored a 35 on his ACT as a freshman, so he's very smart...just curious

Andrew Gribble: Maryville QB Patton Robinette said that he's hearing from Clemson, Penn State and Harvard. Would like to play in the Ivy League.

I was wondering this same thing. I am a little surprised that this is the only mention of him on this forum so far. 6'5", 200# and runs a 4.7 according to his highlight video. He looks pretty good and is in Maryville right under UT's nose.

So does he have interest or the coaches haven't looked his way yet or what is the deal?

That's not "very smart," that's freaky genius stuff. A 35 as a freshman!

If he's scoring that high, he doesn't need to come here. He needs to go to Dartmouth, Princeton, etc.

I assume he will camp at UT right? If Chaney likes what he sees, he will get an offer IMO. I don't think they are afraid of taking a chance on a kid because of his size.

Yep and Chaney had a QB at Purdue with similar height and weight.

Chad put a highlite tape on Youtube, and at the beginning it showed a clip from Lemmings show where he was discussing 2012 QBs. Right off the bat Lemming throws out "Drew Brees".

Do you think he could eventually get a UT offer? He definitely has talent but his lack of size (no homo) could hurt him.

maybe...I could see it down the road...still you have to look at the fact that there may be a better situation for him at another school. Y come to Tennessee if they offer when you could be maybe a 3-4 year starter maybe after a redshirt year at another school..I would think that Mississippi State could sell him more on playing early....

That's what I'm afraid of. With having Bray and Worley on the roster right now, it just makes it difficult to convince a QB to choose us over other schools where he could get early playing time at. It's going to be hard to get a QB this year.

If we get Gunner Kiel, I'm not sure Worley would beat him out in the long run. JMO

CHAD VOYTIK, 6-0/186, PQB, CLEVELAND (TENN.)
Voytik highlights
OFFERS: Picking up steam with offers from Arkansas State, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
STRENGTHS: Has excellent overall body structure, athleticism and strength for a quarterback. Voytik has excellent overall mechanics and spins the ball with the best of them He also has above-average arm strength.
WEAKNESSES: Some college coaches are going to look at his height and say he is too short. His film is stellar in spite of his size and evokes comparisons to Drew Brees.
CONCLUSION: Similar to Robinette he is an excellent student which only opens the door for more schools around the country to be interested. Voytik is a high three-star (5.7) pro-style quarterback that should see his offers reach double digits while proving many doubters wrong along the way.
