'12 TN QB Chad Voytik

In a year where it's going to be tough to get a QB, I wouldn't mind us getting this kid. He's a little short for the position, but he certainly seems to have the talent.

I hope it is the Vols.

I hope its Uga

Also, I went and found that quote and he doesn't say he thinks they are close to offering. The author of the artilce lists Uga and Tennessee as other schools showing interest.

He would be perfect at Miss St. running Mullen's spread.

That is a good call. He could be a star in that offense.

Glad that UGA doesn't seem to be close to an offer. We don't have many spots for this class and have three big offers for QBs out, we won't offer anyone else until we are sure we have missed on at least a couple of those guys.

Like I said, volunteerlane just misspoke. The author of the article just says Uga and UT are other schools showing interest, not close to offering.

The kid can play. His dad is a Dr. here in town. Actually sat in their seats last year for the FL game.

Holds offers from Vandy, Arkansas State, Virginia, Mississippi State and just recently recieved an offer from Pittsburgh over his spring break. He is visiting Clemson on April 9th and he feels pretty confident he will get an offer on the visit. Still claims to be in contact with UT and UGA, but I wouldn't expect to hear much with that anytime soon. However Mississippi State still looks to be the favorite.

"I am visiting Clemson on April 9th," said Voytik. "I feel there are close to offering and that it will turn out similiar to what Pittsburgh did on that visit. I am also still in contact with Georgia and Tennessee but I think Clemson is closer to offering me than those two schools are."
"I like Mississippi State a lot and they were the first to offer me," said Voytik. "And schools like Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh have caught my eye with their academics and what those schools produce on the student side of things. I can't say I have a clear favorite but I am looking closely at those three schools."

Highly doubt UGA will offer. We have offers to Kiel, Lambert, and Pike, not sure that will offer anyone else at the position. We have a small class and are good at the QB position right now, don't have to have one this class and with low numbers, probably better to not take one if he is not the elite of the elite. If we find some more room, Voytik could jump onto our board, but I wouldn't expect it.

Clemson has offered.

“It’s a great school,” Voytik said. “I know Terrence Oglesby. I knew him growing up. He went to Clemson. I knew about the school. I wouldn’t have gone to visit it if I wasn’t interested. I was excited to get that offer

“My dad and I sat in coach [Dabo] Swinney’s office and just talked to him. It was cool to talk to him,” Voytik said. “He explained the new office, things like that. That stood out to me. It’s cool—the tradition, the rock, running down the hill. I liked it. It’s a great stadium.”
- Scout

Named a top 3 of Vandy, Miss. State, & Pitt

Scout has him ranked as the 9th best QB in the South.

Um...so the highlight of the trip was dabo's new office? Odd.

No, they wont take a QB just to take one in this class. We are already on 2 good QB's in the '13 class in Bolin & Printz I'm very confident we land one of them.

just wonder what the QB board looks like:

1- Zeke
2- Gunner
3- Kelly, NY kid
4-???? maybe Voytik if the staff decides to take a QB anyhow???

You really need to take one good qb a year. 2008 should be a good reminder why.

In most cases I agree.

Our situation is a little different though. Because we've got 3 underclassmen QB's, it has made it very tough for our staff to go out and convince a top QB to come here with our depth chart the way it is. That's why the staff likely won't take a QB this year if they can't get an elite guy like Zeke Pike. Like jmoore said, we're already in good shape with some '13 QB's.

They will take a QB in this class. They may miss on some of the more highly rated guys, but they will take a commitment from someone like a Voytik.
