With alot of the teams in the SEC having that mobile QB, it can't hurt to have one to play the part in practice. Also, I did note Simms and Bray were rolling out quite a bit in the spring game which would allow a shorter QB to be productive.

I don't know this kid doesn't look like a Chaney recruit to me....he does a lot of damage with his legs..... short...etc
Arm appears decent but doesn't have the pocket passer skillset imo

I don't think Chaney is exactly calling the shots here in terms of what type of QB we recruit.

What I mean is, there is probably a range of athleticism, height/weight whatever that we are going after. I'm sure Chaney has input --no question, but there are probably a list of guys that fit a certain criteria from which to choose.

Yeah, but you don't waste a scholarship on a practice-squad guy. They can throw a WR in there to simulate a spread guy if need be. No reason to waste a valuable spot on a guy just for that.

Chad Voytik has all those characteristics on top of having a very live arm and one of the best performances at an Elite11 this year. Those are all very important characteristics for the quarterback position

I think it would be a mistake not to take a QB in 2012 and wait for Printz or Bolin in 2013. One out of Voytik, Miles, Kelly, and Gross needs to be a part of this class, imo.

I agree I think we should take one in every class. I would like to see us get a different style of QB if we are just taking one to take one.

Would be my list in order.

If they could get an early commitment from a top 2013QB before NSD this year....I would be fine with spending the ship this year on another DL or LB.

Is the 6 foot measurement correct? I thought someone said he was actually a shade below that. I agree, I can't imagine him trying to look over/around/underneath the likes of Tiny and Posey.
