'12 TN QB Chad Voytik

Well, I've made no doubt about it that I prefer in-state prospects. I think you read too much into my mentioning of the 4 stars. However, I've been here long enough to know someone would jump me for that. I shouldn't use that as my reasoning for the embarrassment. He's good, close to Knoxville, and I would have at least thought the staff would have communicated something to him. anything.

Maybe the staff feels he is another local kid who has full intent to go elsewhere. No sense in investing time in a kid you don't think you will get. I think CDD would do a pretty good job at reading these kids. Seems alot of these local kids this year are seeking that VOL love....but are not jumping at the chance to be a VFL.

Correct that stars aren't the most important thing that determines a prospect's value, but offers and being invited to the Army bowl sure help one's stock. Granted Voytik's list isn't as impressive as others but I have seen some of our signees have worse lists of offers before.

That you cousin?

maybe?

That's laughable. You really think this staff would not recruit an in-state kid because he tells them he wants to go somewhere else? Especially an uncommitted one? Come on, dude. How successful would this staff be if they listened when a guy tells them no?

The truth here is that Voytik doesn't fit the specifications Dooley wants in a QB and we are in a position to be choosy.

Well if you have actually kept up with Voytik you would know he has grown up a Vol fan. He loves Tennessee, and would commit in a heart beat if we were to offer. His height is a risk, but his strong arm makes up for it. I think he's worth the gamble considering there isnt many other highly rated QB's we are really in on right now.

You think that he would at the drop of a hat? Everyone thought Jelks would too considering he probably has been to 90% of the home games since he was born. I can honestly see it bothering him that UT hasn't really tried to even talk with him.

I don't really see the pain in taking him in this class, esp. with him being instate with a lot of talent, but for some reason they don't feel that way about him. I mean we just offered a QB out of texas with a resume almost equal to, maybe a tad better, than Voytik. Seems like we could atleast see where Voytik stands.

ESPNU Watch List QB Chad Voytik (Cleveland, Tenn./Cleveland) has double-digit offers, but three standout from the rest.

"I have a favorite three -- Clemson, Mississippi State, and Pitt," Voytik said. "I will go to each one this summer, check them out, and see which one feels right. Then I hope to make a decision. I would like to try and make a decision before the season. If I need some more time then I will take it.

I haven't readlly paid to much attention to this thread but what is the knock on this kid, his height?

Height and his teams record over the past 2 years. Is what most people are saying here in Cleveland.

chad voytik heres a 250 guy in our home state and it seems like ut isnot pursuing him. do yall think ut will offer him and if they do will they be too late to be a factor
