12 TN RB I'tavius Mathers

I hate to break it to him, but if he doesn't produce, he isn't getting playing time at Ole Miss or anywhere else. That he and his family think he should be guaranteed such is laughable.

Mathers’ father said the chance to play immediately was important to his son, and Ole Miss was the best fit for that.

But the running back was close to changing his decision and go with Vanderbilt, but the coaches never could commit to immediate playing time, his father said.

I told you guys that playing time was priority #1 for him. He quit the football team at one point in high school because of playing time.

I dont really think, and you shouldnt either, that telling a prospect that he cant have immediate PT is lying to him. Actually I consider that being brutally honest.

I didn't think I would ever say this, but I think I agree with you. At least from the article I read, it sounded like there wasn't any lying. The Mathers family just didn't like what they heard. Maybe part of the story isn't being told, but as it is I'm not sure how this kid was lied to.

I think it's hilarious that Franklin would even respond to this. Of course from the guy who decides it's a good idea to get in the face of an opposing team's player immediately after a game, I guess it's not that surprising.

James Franklin @jamesfranklinvu
Funny thing is all we have done is be honest, maybe 2 honest,we don't guarantee playing time,it can be a dirty business but we won't go there

No? But I know I'tavius and he HATES Tennessee. We could have given him a Cam deal and he wouldn't have come here.

Just let it die. Like it should have a loooooooooong time ago.

Vandy, Tennessee, all schools that recruited this guy are far better off without him and dodged a major bullett IMO.

I've never seen such a sense of entitlement from the family of a dime a dozen / run of the mill running back prospect from the state of Tennessee.

They have acted like this kid is the #1 recruit in the country from the time his recruitment began.

i have an insider and I'Tavius will be a rebel no question about it. he wants to play right away as a freshman and wants to be promised that but CJF willl not promise starting time but will promise a chance. this is one of the main reasons he is going to Ole Miss

Well if he shows up there with the same opinion of himself he's very likely to be seriously dissapointed..
