12 TN RB I'tavius Mathers

Here is what I would say to I-train…

He was 12 years old when the Indy Colts defeated the Chicago Bears to win the Super Bowl. That team featured a highly explosive offense that utilized the same sprint-draw type system that the Vols are currently using. In 2012, the Vols are going to roll out their Multiple Scorgasms attack that is a copy of the Colts system. Tyler Bray is Peyton Manning. Justin Hunter is Marvin Harrison. Da’Rick Rogers is Reggie Wayne. Mychal Rivera is Dwight Clark. The only piece we lack is who is going to be Edgerrin James. The I-train can be that man from day # 1. It is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Edgerrin James played no part in that Super Bowl run.

I think you mean Joesph Addai, James had been gone for years at that point.

Whoops, it all runs together. Ok, I looked it up. The first year he was gone is when they won the Super Bowl. The team even voted and gave him a Super Bowl ring.

Well, the I-train won't remember all those details. He was only 12.

My version sounds better....let's just call it a little poetic license....

Doesn't really matter. He going elsewhere. Might as well lie to him.....lol

Dominic Rhodes carried that team on his back in the Super Bowl

Addai did run for 77 yards and catch 10 balls for 66 yards in the Super Bowl. Albeit Rhodes ran for over a 100yards and a touch. However, he far from carried them on his back that game considering Addai did lead the team in receiving that game. Both played large roles.
Addai also ran for over 1k that year. I had to look all this up, yes.

It was a travesty Rhodes wasn't the MVP of that Super Bowl.

his head coach previously coached at Rod Wilks school and doesn't think we gave him a fair chance.

Mathers plays for Blackman High School. His coach is Phillip Shadowens, who use to be Smyrna's coach. Yes he left the High School he graduated from and led to back to back 5 A championships and now is coaching at one of Smyrna's biggest rivals. Also the Asst Principal at Blackman is a Big Bammer so no telling what the kid has been told.

anyone know the latest on this recruit? was talking with my electrician (ole miss fan) and said Mathers may be UT bound...of course this is not a source to credit, so, I bring this question to where solid sources congregate :D...anyone hear anything?? Sup?

I don't believe I've read anything that would suggest he's ever had any interest in UT. TIFWIW.

I haven't either but with CJG I thought it would be possible. I'm not putting much stock into what dude said (reason I bring this up on VN) but just thought that the possibility existed. But, thanks for your input:salute:
