The difference though is one was a ball carrier and the other was helmet to helmet with a defenseless receiver.But he didn’t launch and other one he did launch, but the player wasn’t defenseless, like this one was, but both had forcible contact to the head.....etc etc
It’s subjective and never seems to go against Bama. Neither were even reviewed which that in itself is crap.

I don’t think the launch is really a requirement for the foul. It’s just an element they are trying to eliminate when it comes to head shots.The announcers said he didnt launch himself in the second. I don’t know when that became part of the penalty?
I agree the second was more targeting than the first. My biggest gripe is they don’t even review either.
It's not and I dont understand why people argue targeting so intently without reading what the NCAA rules actually state.
