#13 Bama (10-2) vs #14 Michigan (9-3) Game Thread (1:00 PM ET)

But he didn’t launch and other one he did launch, but the player wasn’t defenseless, like this one was, but both had forcible contact to the head.....etc etc

It’s subjective and never seems to go against Bama. Neither were even reviewed which that in itself is crap.
The difference though is one was a ball carrier and the other was helmet to helmet with a defenseless receiver.

The announcers said he didnt launch himself in the second. I don’t know when that became part of the penalty?

I agree the second was more targeting than the first. My biggest gripe is they don’t even review either.

I don’t think the launch is really a requirement for the foul. It’s just an element they are trying to eliminate when it comes to head shots.

It's not and I dont understand why people argue targeting so intently without reading what the NCAA rules actually state. I dont think most of the tv announcers have either TBH.

Part of that might be that it’s so vague it’s hard to determine what is and isn’t targeting

And for the love of God, can we get rid of these ref consultants in the booth that add absolutely nothing ever?

Why the hate for Michigan?

Over rated big ten team espn and the sports writers constantly try to make better than they are.

Plus their player flat out stole Peyton’s heisman.

It would be crazy to go back and look at the number of times Michigan, Texas and Notre Dame finished a season worse than their preseason ranking.
