'13 D.C. LB Yannick Ngakoue

Our coaches don't stop recruiting just because a kid commits elsewhere.

Thanks, I would never have figured that out myself.

What I wanted to know was if we stopped recruiting him because we have Zanca, Barnes, Campbell, Vereen, and Goeas committed already. I hope not and seriously doubt it, I just didn't know for sure.

I think the LBs we have committed now hopefully will end up like Keithon Redding and Co. last year. We take them as back up plans for now and then take a higher commit to put in their place if becomes necessary.

Considering we were still going after other LBs and did not appear to be done at the position, I highly doubt we had quit pursuing him.

We are still recruiting Lawson, Levenberry, O'Daniel, Ngakoue, Hatcher, and Toney.

I was only listing the one's committed elsewhere that we are actively pursuing. We are recruiting Grace and it's down to Miami and UT.

Good news. Say we pull Ngakoue and Grace. Who do you think (if anyone) we would cut ties with? My guess would be Barnes and that's it.

We really could use around 10 LBs to tell the truth. But I know we won't take that many. Wouldn't make sense to cut any of our LB commits loose.

LB is the one position that we need to have big depth to run in a 3-4. I said earlier in the year that we needed at least 6 LBs but I don't think the staff would turn any badarse LBs away that want to come to UT.

Are we expecting any attrition after this year? I'd love to sign 10 lbs too, but last numbers I read suggested 6 would be the most we can sign. I hope we encourage some dead weight to leave, as bad as that sounds.

Heck no! We're actually still trying to recruit Ortha Peters back into the fold.

...sorry...
Orka X Other = Ortha X Otha ?
my algebra is a bit suspect

Palardy would be in that dead weight category imo

There is always attrition. We won't know anything until next spring, probably.

Farrell just said that UT or USCjr can benefit the most from YN and Derwin Gray if they plan to stick together.

I don't know that we get Grace or not I think he is Miami bound, unless they get hit hard with ncaa sanctions. I do think we will sign two more with Yannick Ngakoue, and Mario Mathis beign the final two.
