'13 D.C. LB Yannick Ngakoue

Honestly, Lox is one of the top recruiters in the country. Not really all that shocking.

Posted about commit in the Gray thread last nite. Friendship and Dunbar have always been Maryland feeder schools and now Lox is on staff there it maybe years before anyone get talent from those schools. Just think if they win 7 games yearly and start to tap the talent at GCHS...watch out they could become a player in the ACC.

I absolutely agree. I don't see too many prospects from that area (as a whole) getting away. I really think that Maryland starts kicking a$$ in the ACC in near future.

Any chance that this guy and Derwin Gray start looking around if the rest of MD's season looks like their first game?

I'm sure our coaches are staying in contact with Ngakoue at least. My guess would be that if Maryland tanks and Edsall is fired, Locksley would be the interim since he's the primary recruiter and has HC experience. IF Locksley stays, most of the recruits will probably stick. JMO tho.

"I'm not committed to Maryland anymore," said Ngakoue, who is 6-foot-3, 240-pounds. "My top schools now are Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland, Miami and South Carolina."

West Virgnia: "West Virginia was my first offer. I've always had a great relationship with Coach Roberts."

Tennessee: "I have a great relationship with Coach Sal, and I can be used up there with their scheme."

Miami: "Miami has great tradition and they have been recruiting me extremely hard."

South Carolina: "I love that they're on the come up and the conference that they're in."

"My ultimate goal is to be on the field and I'm looking for a situation that I can thrive in," he said. "I want to find a situation that can take me to the next level."

I had forgotten this but Fortenberry just said UT finished second for him when he chose Maryland. Would be a very nice get.

Should mean we lead right? Maryland-UT-USCe-Miami...

Minus Maryland, means UT-USCe-Miami...

Nevermind USCe and Miami....

Means UT it is.

YES! I wanted this kid bad back in the spring (no homo). Give me him and Grace to wrap up this LB corps, please.

Wonder if his team mate Gray (OL) will open his recruitment back up, too?

This kid is a stud and could probably see PT day one, the VOLS are a major player. If he commits I can see the staff dropping one of the current LB's.

I'm about 1 for 100 in recruiting calls now. I saw this coming after MD's first game. Not sure he'll end up with us, but I'd bet Derwin Gray also decommits before the end of the season also. MD is on their way down.

This kid and Gray likely coming for Bama game. Teammates of '14 recruit Jalen Tabor and D Funderburk.
