'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

First off, I should say I'm biased. So if he chose Vandy over us I would never understand that, they're going no where. However, if he chose Ole Miss or MSU I could understand. He'd get good playing time for a team that is 2 or 3 players from being a serious competitor (like ourselves)

Ole Miss and MSU are not 2 or 3 players away from being serious competitors. They are no where near LSU or Bama. They are even less talented than Auburn.

lol I love how SGM always shows up after a kid commits elsewhere. Clockwork.

As SMG's psychologist, I pointed out to him that he was wasting his life by averaging 20+ posts per day for three solid years. He hasn't posted much since as his average is less than 12 posts per day now. So, cut him a little slack, dude is finally getting a life. Heck, he may even have a girlfriend/boyfriend now....

He will have to earn his starting job at Bama. It is much harder to become a starter at Bama than at UT so using your logic, he made the right decision.

But it's much harder to win a National Championship at Tennessee than at Alabama. I suppose it comes down to whether or not he wants a Championship, or to see the field.

I agree 1 million percent he'll have to earn his PT at Bama, and he'll be basically guaranteed the job here, never disagreed with that. I was coming from a Football Winning standpoint, not a playing time winning view, should have stated that, that's my fault.

The original post said the majority of his yards came against Wake and Murray. You argued less than half were vs those two. So I posted Wake and Murray stats. Not Clemson and Sav St.

I'm not gonna dig it up, so I'll take your word on it. :hi:

I guess I figured he would have stated the weakest two teams to make his point, which would have been Murray and Savannah.

My point was correct, it was just not the point he was trying to make I guess, LOL

How do you know he can't? We have no idea how its going to play out. He may not care about playing early as much as he does playing for championships. 10 years ago would you have chose Bama over UT?

Yeah cause im a UT homer!! Lol...but he's not gonna see any playing time at bama at the runningback position and you know it... They are loaded..

Nope.. pretty sure he is still stroking it to Kiffin

Guess he just wants to sit on the bench and collect a NC ring or two while not contributing. I guess he can hope for the best and get a chance in a couple of years. Hey, do we now have a chance at Tenpenny or the other kid already committed to Bmmrr. I know part of his decision was based on whether Doolz will be around next year. Hart needs to get involved with recruiting to explain the buy-out implications to these kids and that we simply cant afford to let Dooley go! Hopefully this means we lock up Green- I think he will be a better back anyway.

Maybe not Ole miss as much, but MSU surely is. Give them a good QB and RB, and they'd be serious competitors. Never said they'd beat Bama or LSU, but they would be top 4 in the SEC, think South Carolina.

Why take a risk on a school unless you absolutely love it? Me and you both would take that risk, but you can't expect a non biased recruit to feel that way. He is confident in his abilities to become a star at Bama and he is going to practice and play against the best, and win.

He will probably redshirt next year and will be in the role Trent Richardson was in 2 years ago. It really comes down to whether he believes he can beat out Tenpenny or not, and he does. He is confident and you need that in a back.

I will never understand as a player how you can go as a freshman to a team that already has 3-4 "5 star" running backs and already has signed to high 4 stars. Especially when he said that the depth chart meant a lot to him. I know Bama is the best team in the nation, but kids forget there are other places that have pipelines for NFL talent as well.
