'13 GA CB Shaq Wiggins (Transferring to UT)

We beat UGA without him last year so he's just icing on the top.

I know, like I said a couple pages back when he committed, a good pickup for UT, someone asked why he left/was asked to leave UGA. I expect some INT from him this year, he is good at cutting underneath, he bit a lot on pump fakes early. I just didn't want someone thinking I value anything Petrino says/thinks. He slept with a coaches wife, any wife is bad, but to one of your own? Dude is scum.

"He's 100% done. Committed to Tennessee, coming to Tennessee. Not taking any more visits."

I like Wiggins' attitude.

Anybody have links or know where to find any of his interviews since committing?

- Said he can't control what people think about Tennessee being his third program, but that things happen for a reason, and that he's never been in trouble, never been late or missed anything, never failed a drug test, never had a problem with grades, has his college degree, etc., and that at the end of the day he's comfortable with the people who really know him knowing him and know what he's about.

Like this part...

...and

It was more than a speeding ticket. He was driving on a suspended license, still no biggy. "The arresting officer's routine check on Wiggins' license found that he had failed to appear in court on an earlier charge, resulting in the license being suspended."

But, don't let those facts interfere with Shaq's tall tales

Yeah I read the story. Failure to appear. Do you know what for?

My guess is for a traffic violation. If that's the case, which I believe is highly likely, you are making much ado about nothing.

Does a guy have character concerns for going to 3 schools in as many years, yeah definitely, but I trust our guys have vetted him out.

Wiggins seems to be tight with Kamara, who coincidentally also went to three schools.

So Petrino is considered as a judge of proper behavior? Makes sense.

think about it this way. If a scum like Petrino is willing to kick him out of practice what does that say about him?

Like with "Shole is hungry" being too dirty for Kiffin, it says something.

jmo. I hope he does well here.

It says I do not care what Petrino did. That's not a strike against the kid imo.

While at Tennessee as an undergrad; I got a speeding ticket while home for Christmas break.
I mailed the ticket with a check to pay it. Didn't see that the check didn't clear (statement went to home in Memphis not Knoxville). "Didn't appear in court " and had a warrant for my arrest served to my home in Memphis. I called to straighten it out, but had to appear in court. Didn't drive my car until I could go home after finals because the warrant would have been served and I would be arrested and transported to Memphis. They did let me set up a court appearance during Spring break (so I could take finals). Judge was jumping all over me until he listened to me plead guilty for the ticket, and for missing my court appearance. He actually was laughing at me as I told my side of the story. He dismissed and expunged the missing court date charges. I just had to pay the original speeding ticket.

So I am a hardened criminal just like Shaq Wiggins...

Hey, at least he didn't do something stupid like getting drunk and high and driving a vehicle into the middle of an intersection then passing out in the middle of it. Suspended for 2 quarter.

But don't let the facts interfere with Kirby's exempt tales.

Facts, yeah don't let the facts get in your way of a good story. Ledbetter served a 6 game suspension for DUI. Kid needed help, UGA put him in rehab.

If you really look at the systems you would see why Wiggins has been to 3 schools.

He committed to Granthams defense and clearly was susccessful in it as a freshman. Then Grantham leaves for Louisville and UGA brings in Pruitt.

If you remember that spring several starting defenders including left UGA because they didn't feel like they fit the system and didn't like Priuitt. Pruitt system likes bigger corners being that Bama type system. so he goes to Louisville knowing he fits that DC system better.

Now his DC leaves out of nowhere in a random trade for Peter Sirmon. Sirmon defense at USC as interim was terrible and his Miss St defense was not great. Wiggins didn't go there for Petrino. Now he was looking at 3 systems that made a lot of sense for his skill set and chose TN. Shoop has had success with corners like him in past particularly at Vandy that had smaller yet aggressive in your face corners. Give Wiggins some credit he understands where his strengths and weaknesses are and where he fits in

IIRC, AK was also arrested for driving on a suspended license for failure to appear.

According to Bama sites, AK was suspended twice.

"Kamara, though, didn’t see the field during his freshman year at Alabama. He was suspended twice — once for behavioral reasons, another for an undisclosed violation — and was granted a release in mid-January."

AK is proof a young man can change and become a leader. He's in the perfect spot at NO, candidate for ROY in that system.

Bama would have kept him. Saban went full smear campaign once he knew Kamara would transfer at end of year. Kamara issues while young and immature were all minor. Saban issue was Kamara didn't want to change positions
