'13 GA OLB Reuben Foster

I was surprised that UGAinsider thinks UA. He is a top talent and Smart just did a visit and the staff seems to be making a push, but I think CMR and UGA have to much of a lead right now plus Mathews will help.

Not to mention Beckwith just had a great visit and we are pushing hard to get M Thomas on campus. I think the UA staff knows Foster is a long shot at this point.

I just don't think Foster ever really wanted to come to UGA. He's always flirted with our staff but always ended up committing somewhere else. I think the same will happen before NSD.

CMR and staff are after M. Thomas as well. I doubt we get him but he (Thomas) is willing to listen.

Tee Martin is the lead recruiter for USC with Thomas. If Tee joins the staff, will be interesting to see if USC is exchanged for UT.

Agree, UGAInsider is sandbagging. They will need to just work with Auburn HS to make sure his grades are in order. They may have the top class in the country when the dust settles.

I was being serious.

Before he committed to Bama, he was at UGA plenty of times and our coaches thought they had him sealed up.

Before he committed to the Barn, he would visit with Matthews and Tray was all over him to flip to UGA. Again, our coaches thought they had flipped him.

He may commit to UGA but I will not believe it until the LOI is faxed in.

The thing with Thomas he only has 3 scheduled OVs right now and USC is not one of them He has talked about it possibily but recently he said he may only have time for the 3 with school, AA games and NSD coming up. Miami, UA, and FSU, with FSU might not being an option now because Stoops is gone. Plus as HG said Ice is the driving force behind Thomas as many others, so it is him you have to convince and everything I read he did not support USC or anyone on their staff.

From AU Rivals -

"I'll give them a chance. I'm a fair guy. I don't know the coaches; I haven't met them all yet." He added that Jeremy Johnson has been recruiting on Auburn's behalf. Also, said AU won't get an official visit "because I live right there." Will visit Georgia and Washington for sure.

Question for uga and tw since they are roaming around this thread, rm20 can chime in as well I always appreciate his info. When do you guys believe ut will be in play for guys like this. We aren't even on his or Robert n'S radar and they are in Georgia. I'm not saying These guys would ever choose Tennessee but right now because of our w-l and coaching turnover but I do believe we should be "trying" w these guys. Did foster even visit here

TBH neither is UA right now.:)

But I think for any program to get the top elite GA players away from UGA has to show the program has a legit chance to be a top program all 4 years that recruit will be there. That does not mean BCSCG but in the talk for the SECC and winning 10 games a year and then it is still hard. Especially when UGA is doing well. Foster jumped on UA early and RN UA had an in with because his HC was a former UA player. But UA even with the success it has had lately has missed way more with GA players probably more than any state.

IMO if CBJ in 3 years from now has continued to move the program into the right direction UT will be in the mix for a lot of GA recruits. But it is hard to go in any state in the south and grab their best when the program is doing well.:hi:

I agree with what TW said. UT has the facilities, history and support in place but it always helps to have a few elite recruiters that know how to create a personal relationship with the recruits. Notice alot of these kids mentioned certain coaches they keep in contact with, that goes a long way in certain schools standing out from the rest on the trail.

It'll be tough, honestly. You'll have to sell these kids on something other than tradition IMO. Your biggest competition (UF, UA, and UGA) are all trending up. That said, if Georgia becomes Jones's top recruiting priority I definitely think y'all can start really getting in the mix for big time 2014 talent though with an impressive (8+ wins) season and having the ability to sell kids on PT. We have been slow in offering that class, and I feel like we could miss on a lot of top in state 2014 targets.

They are going to recruit him. Most believe he stays in state and ends up at either Alabama or Auburn.
