UT Vols join SEC list with offers for Ridgeland High School

Newer Times free press article out. SIAP

I think the kid sounds like he wants to go to Tennessee, but I think his coach is advising him to slow it down a bit and take the visits just to make sure.. before he makes a "decision based on emotion"... nothing really wrong with that, but would be shocked if this guy didnt eventually commit to UT.
:good!:

 what at kinda fools are complaining about 2013 & 2014 recruits when we were down to 4 remaining coaches on staff during a crucial recruiting year. 2012 was THE one and only option after the turnover.

stop crying and just use your head.

:lolabove: Come on, peeps! Can't we at least enjoy our 2012 class for a day or two before you start whining about why we haven't offered this guy or that guy for 2013?! Vonn got his offer...simmer down! It's still 363 days until NSD 2013...I think we have a little bit of time to reel our guys in.

364 days. Stupid leap year...

Has Bell committed yet?

Me, being a lifelong, VFL, LifeVol, would have committed as soon as I was offered

Probably will remain uncommitted for awhile. He says TN is his dream offer and loves everything about the school and been following TN since middle school. He's been to about 6-7 games so far. He also said he's keeping his options open for now.

Laugh and giggle all you want but it's quite refreshing to have such an elite prospect in our backyard that WANTS to play for the Vols. *Bob Barker voice* Vonn Bell...C'mon down.

Bell & Jacques Smith are good friends, Jacques actually text Bell yesterday to let him know Tennessee was about to offer.

Hmm!!

Taken from 247..

“My coach got me out of fourth block, and Tennessee called earlier (Thursday),” Bell said. “He called back to Tennessee, and they gave Dooley the phone. Dooley talked to me for a couple of minutes, and he offered me over the phone.”

It happened just as Smith had predicted.

“Jacques texted me, like, 30 minutes before I got on the phone with (Dooley), so I had kind of an idea (the offer was coming),” Bell said. “But I didn’t believe him at that point.”

Bell said his conversation with Dooley only lasted long enough for Tennessee’s third-year coach to make it clear the Vols are interested in him.

“He just said they were very pleased with my film, and they want a guy on their team like me and they’re very excited about me,” Bell said. “He said Tennessee wants me, and he just offered me on the phone.”

I've heard that song and dance. I hope we get him, but the dream school guys often seem to go somewhere else. Jelks passed up an offer to be the only OL signee in his class at his "dream school" to go play for a pompous ass.

:hi: Touche'. You and cascade are correct. As long as the Vols are the right track.

Was Jelks' offer commitable? I have heard it wasn't from others on here (no inside info). I know it looks like it would have been with us signing no Olineman and having spots open, but our current talent at Oline allowed us to be selective...
