13' GA S Vonn Bell (Ohio State signee)

I've been thinking about this and began to look at the current commits that may be asked to look elsewhere and/or neglected leading up to December/January. The only players this could potentially happen to are Barnes, Campbell, and Zanca. The local CAK kids are not looking around and have no academic issues, so I do not see Dooley telling them to look elsewhere. With Barnes, the coaches really like him, but if better prospects come along the coaches could easily not "show him enough love" and he could decommit and go elsewhere (also don't be surprised if UGA tries to pry him away from us). Same thing could happen with Zanca. Now with Campbell, if he fails to be an EE, he may not be a part of this class...BUT...I doubt Dooley wants to mess up the Hutchinson pipeline, so Campbell is unlikely to be turned away.

I doubt Sal will have Barnes look anywhere, he really likes the kid.

I'm not sure what the OP was insinuating with that comment. It shouldn't be an either or IMO between Ramsey and Bell. If you want to get back among the elite programs in the SEC you need to land both guys of that caliber.

I agree. UT needs both prospects. Both would give quality depth and gameplay in the secondary & help UT get back to fielding elite defenses.

My comment was simply insinuating that, IMO, Vonn Bell is a better football player/athlete than Jalen Ramsey. Now Ramsey is a great player too and is an incredible athlete, but I really like the potential of Bell & cannot wait to see what he can do for UT. I think he has the potential to be the best playmaker UT has had in the defensive backfield since Eric Berry. Of course, UT is lucky enough to have three more seasons of Brian Randolph who is a very solid SEC DB & LaDarrell McNeil has all sorts of talent and potential. Should be a fun couple of years for UT's secondary if everything goes accordingly.

Anyway, I greedily want UT to sign both Ramsey and Bell, but I do not like where UT is standing with Ramsey currently. Can't wait to hear Bell announce for UT.

Two years out we will have McNeil, Coleman, Miles, Randolph, Bonner, Gray and Thomas plus whatever new comers we have in the next 2 classes. Seems to be a pretty solid base to build on.

Pretty sure VB won't be a Vol. His dad is from Union City and I live in Martin. His dad told one of my older friends that he didn't think Tennessee was even in top 5 anymore. Hopefully he was pulling his string, but I doubt it.

The best recruiting tool any team has is wins. Currently Tennessee doesn't have those, it isn't "super" attractive to commit to a 5-7 school. Just wait until we put up 9-10 wins this year and we will be the only school he is considering.

Unless he thinks he's the difference in a close game. Competitor's mindset.

Bell has cut his list to 7 schools: Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Vanderbilt, & Clemson.

He said he will cut his list down to 2 schools by Labor Day & then go from there.

Wooo, glad we made it! I was worried. haha! Anyhow, on a serious note, I was surprised to see Vandy on there. Didn't know they were in the running.

I guess UT
should be one of the two from talking some of the kids that used to play ball with him.
