Not sure if serious?

Yeah...what I'm sayin is that there are tons of contributing factors that make a player successful in college. Much of the reason Cobb got so much publicity (aside from being a baller) was that he was doing everything at UK. Would he likely have been great at UT? Yeah. However, you can't tell me we haven't had our fair share of local guys come in looking like world beaters, to only get buried in the depth chart or kicked out of school.

I'm just saying, I'm not going to discount the in state commits we have (though some may at first be puzzling) any more than I'll get super upset when we miss on one. It happens, and you've just gotta move on.

Also, let's get Von Bell.

Other schools are using UT fans talking about firing Dooley as ammunition against UT.

Our fans need to think before they say something stupid.

You are incorrect. Other schools are talking about Dooley, the Kentucky game, and the GPA at UT.

Memoribilia for money
Gun possession

text book gate
rappergate. etc. etc

Name the school(s). My point is all schools have negative recruiting points.

The fact Dooley may not be around after this season is worse than all of those.

If Young, Blanc and Crowder make a name for themselves, the recruiting services are going to have to start taking Knoxville/East TN talent more seriously. I doubt there ever spend any time evaluating these kids.

I think DY will definitely be in the thick of the RB rotation this fall, and if he blows up teams like the Gators and Bamer, then these recruiting services are going to look pretty foolish giving him only a 2*.

You've also got to think about the fact that Cobb went to UK with a huge chip on his shoulder believing he deserved a UT offer. , Without that drive, he may have never become the player he turned out to be.

Hm that's a fair point. I didn't consider that before, but I can see how that would play a part. I still think he's so naturally talented and that talent would get him to the league. But if he didn't work at it, that talent may have gone to waste. We'll never know, but it would have been cool to see him at UT.

Thats pretty dumb. Pay for play (USC) lost their championship trophy and schollies, Petrino got fired, North Carolina is not looking good, kid died in Auburn, UGA has had its obligatory pre season meltdown and you think we have it worse?

Why would kids being recruited care about GPA? It's up to each student-athlete to keep their grades up. Lol. Oh and I've personally met football players from Vandy that could barely carry on a conversation, I honestly wondered if they could spell their name correctly, so I'm sure every university has their fare share of DA's.

Whether people like Dooley or not if we lose him this year we will have more than a major setback, let's just hope he proves everyone wrong this year and rocks out!

This is why all these nega-Vols need to change their attitude about Dooley, and be supportive no matter what. A very successful season and our program will make the turn back to being elite. If we get rid of Dooley any time in the next couple of years, then our program will most likely have another 5 years that resembles the last 5 years.

I think DY will end up being a good change of pace guy and kick returner for us but probably never the starter. I have no clue about Blanc. But I am really excited about Crowder as he is a true center (no more botched snaps thank the Lord) and from all accounts is going to b a good one for us when he gets his shot.

I think the only thing keeping DY from eventually being the starter is a stable that would look like it's supposed to, not necessarily a reflection of his talent. But you're right, he should be very good at his roles. I think he's already blown away his 2* grade, but then again I'm no analyst. Blanc was very impressive in the O&W game, if he can pick up a few things from Hunter, Da'Rick, and CP he should be more than ready when called on.

Are we leaving Blanc at WR or moving him to defense once camp starts?

We are very close to being back. The talent cupboard is being refilled and we have several realistic options at most every position.

We will make strides this season. We are following a plan and Dave Hart is not going to allow a bump in the road detract the program from following the plan and reaching the finish line goal.

He's staying at WR according to 247 he has had such a good spring and summer that he may see significant time in the wr rotation over one of the other wr ut signed.

Right, I think the coaches are giving Howard the first look at RB correct? Either way, Blanc looked good at WR, seemed to earn the right to stay there
