I know when NSD is. It's the first week in Feb. My point was that it means a lot more if UT is his top school then rather than now. There's just so much time for other schools to negatively recruit against UT. If he still favors UT in the winter, then those schools didn't get into his head and he's likely to be a Vol.
Does that also not give the Vols more time to negatively recruit against other schools (particularly Urban)? Do not be naive; tactics are the same at most schools and in most fan bases. :whistling:
Lol those other schools have a lot more ammunition to use against UT than UT has to use against them. I never said UT was immune to negatively recruiting players either. I'm sure they do it too. It's just harder for us to do it against teams who are winning.
That's correct. So again if he choses to commit to UT, nothing will change. He will still be recruited and they will down play UT like they currently are. I hope he pulls the trigger. NSD makes my blood pressure go up.
Dooley's inability to get the big names to commit early has hindered his recruiting. These other schools are taking marque players and asking them to recruit for them. That was Fulmer's strategy and it normally paid off.
Just my 2 cents, but IMO Randall Cobb is the exception and not the rule when it comes to local players. It would be cool to see what UT would have been with him on the roster though.
