You're right, mixed up lottery and thinking it was 1st round but it's not, it's like first 18 picks right?

Hansborough comes to mind as someone who was constantly a projected lottery pick, but continued to come back to school.

Just throwing it out there, but there's only one way to find out, and I'm hoping and praying he stays his junior year. If he does 2013 could be a great year for the basketball team.

Agree, 2013 could be special if he were to return. And the lottery is the top 14 picks.

You're partially right. Pearl honed in on a few select guys and focused all his attention on them. He was unfortunate to have several recruits lie to him about their intentions, and having no backup plan backfired on him in occasion. Cashmere Wright, Elliot Williams, and JJ Hickson all three mislead Pearl and his staff up until the day they committed. Craft and Selby bolted as well, though not exactly in the eleventh hour like the others.

I really think Craft and Selby bolted because they knew what was coming down the pike after the BBQ at Pearl's house. Anybody know for sure?

Craft, when he committed to Tennessee had offers from Miami, OH, Central Michigan, Ohio U, and a couple other mid majors. When OSU offered, he was very upfront with Pearl and decommitted in favor of his childhood dream of playing for the Buckeyes. This was all long before the investigation into the picture of him at Pearl's house.

Tennessee was in on Selby very early, like Craft. When he began to blow up on the AAU circuit, he became a piece of meat and his mother began marketing him to bigger programs. His mother and his "handlers" were to blame for his decision and ultimate demise.

Tennessee was in to see Stephens today along with, Clemson, Georgia tech, and Miami.

That's interesting that we are still recruiting 2012 guys. I know there was speculation about Golden being an "preferred walk-on." However, Stephens has offers from legit Big 6 schools. There's no way he would accept a preferred walk-on status. Someone would have to leave...

"I really like coach Martin a lot, he's easy to talk to and for at least, the best part is that he doesn't try to hype you up or tell you how great you are. Personally, I like that approach," Stephens said of Martin's style. "When we do talk about basketball it's not about how good I am but what I can do to get better, be a better player.

"You can tell he's serious and he's going to work hard to make you better not just as a player but as a person. I think he wants to build his program with high character guys, which I like."

from VQ.

Sounds like we're in really good shape with this guy.

Is he backup for Hubbs, Nicholad, King, JW3, if we miss on anyone of them?

Nicholad?? Haha

Uhm, well I doubt we pull all 4, so my guess is he has a committable offer. Meaning, if he wants to committ today id think we probably honor it. Someone like Munson, his offer isn't committable(I'd guess), if he called CCM to committ CCM would likely tell him he needed to wait.

I'm on my phone haha. Is Stephens better than Reese and Q?

I totally agree. I do think he will close the deal on a couple of these prospects. I'm just ready for bball to get started up again!
