#13 LSU(6-2) @ #8 Alabama (7-1)

You can't explain it. Bama is not touching the playoffs this year.

You're just FOS.
Bama has for all intents and purposes locked up a trip to ATL and will go in there 11-1. If they win the SECG they’re a 100% lock to be in the playoffs. So they will be sniffing the playoffs at minimum, up until 4pm on Dec 2nd. By 7:30 we’ll know if they’re in our out.

Hardly a Bama fan and we both know they aren't going.

GA is the only SEC team going this year.

Just meet me here in a few weeks. If you think the SEC is going to cheat Bama in, it's a great thing for you to agree to.

It ain't happening. The SEC isn't cheating. The refs just suck.
They are carrying bama to the sec championship so far….

bama will beat Georgia or whoever is playing them

So the refs only suck in bama favor but look the other way when they do the same? Seems like cheating to me

I think you suffer from viewers bias.

Again, if the refs were cheating for Alabama to get in the playoffs, they didn't get it done this year unless they OBVIOUSLY cheat vs GA later this year.

That's not going to happen, IMO, and I'll stand by that.

The UT vs Bama game was VERY suspicious to me and a lot of people but most games...... the refs are just lousy but pretty much equally lousy.
Why was the Tn game so suspicious to you verses any other game? I see holding, pi, targetting and a variety of other calls that are made against one team (even if they did actually commit the foul) blatantly not called on other teams

Ok. 20%. Thank you.

So, 20% is not even close to practically zero. If you really believe that Alabama’s chances are practically zero, you should have said less than 1%.

What have you seen this season, from both teams, that makes you believe Georgia is 80% better than Alabama?
Hey, thanks for a reasonable discussion.

GA has a much stronger O Line than Bama this year. GA gets more time for Beck than AL gets for Milroe. GA was hurt by Bowers getting hurt but they're just deep.

On D, Bama is usually pretty solid but this year they're a bit weak in the secondary. GA will take advantage because Beck has time.

Calling it today, GA 35 AL 28. That can change with injuries before the SEC championship game.

So if you don't think the refs cheat for Bama, we agree....... SEC refs suck but usually equally.

Agree?

SEC referees do not understand the rules well enough. I see them making inconsistent calls every single week.

The SEC refs are absolutely terrible, and it’s almost always unequal.

“Equal” implies that the same number of poor calls favors both teams the exact same number of times. That hardly ever happens. Usually, in a game, one team benefits from poor calls more than another.

That does not mean that the team that benefits from officiating less always loses. It also does not mean the refs are consciously favoring one specific team all the time.

Referees are human. They make mistakes, they get emotional, and they have personal opinions and biases. These are often expressed during football games through the calls they make, not always intentionally, but often unconsciously.

Referees are not scrutinized enough either. They are not held accountable enough, and that has lead to the officiating getting worse and worse every year in college football.

I think Bama had 1 penalty? The PI calls that were obvious to pretty much everyone, even the ESPN (that hates TN, you know) analysts, were pretty egregious.

It was a very very poorly officiated game.

35-28 seems awfully close for “practically no chance.” Are you changing your mind that Alabama has “practically no chance?” Are you giving them a higher chance now?

I would not exactly call our discussion reasonable, when you have accused me of saying that the SEC refs have been cheating for Alabama, when I never said that.

I also wouldn’t call it a reasonable discussion when I have asked repeatedly for you to explain why you believe Alabama has “practically no chance” of winning the SEC championship game, and it took about 4 or 5 asks for you to finally answer the question.

But, you did finally answer the question after wasting about an hour of my time, so thanks, I guess.

Preaching to the choir. I've said the SEC could take 1 million from each school for 16 million and pay 80 refs $200,000 / yr to be full-time, train year round, and be held responsible.

The SEC chooses not to do that because it makes them look like the NFL. They don't want to look like a pro football league.

You can't have it both ways. If you want pro refs, you need to admit you're a pro football business, not an amateur sports organization.

The NCAA and SEC are stuck. They've created this billion dollar business with two bit refs because they don't want to get sued and have to share that money with the players.

The quality of the refs suffers.

Alabama isn't winning vs GA. I'll be here, Lord willing and my heart doesn't quit, and we can discuss this further.

Nobody is cheating for Bama. If they are, they are failing in getting them to the playoff UNLESS they're extremely obvious vs GA.

They won't be. Because they aren't cheating. The refs just suck in the SEC.

“Preaching to the choir.”

Not exactly. Do you now agree with me that the refs are awful, and that awfulness is not equal to every team? Because that was my stance. You said the awfulness was always equal for all teams.

That's what I been saying, some teams seem to benfit more from the awful officiating than others do.

I don’t think you fully read and/or understand what I write.

Once again, I never said that the refs are cheating for Bama. Why do you keep bringing that up? Why did you accuse me of saying that the refs cheat for Bama?

Why did you say Bama has “practically no chance” of beating Georgia, then said they have a 20% chance, then predict UGA will only win by a TD, then once again say Alabama has no chance against UGA?

That's what I been saying, some teams seem to benfit more from the awful officiating than others do.

It’s only natural for that to happen. The chances of the refs screwing up completely equal for all teams is very, very low.

The refs are awful but there's a reason, as I explained, why the SEC prefers awful refs to professional refs.

They're mostly equal. Equally bad.

I'll admit that the refs in the Bama vs TN game this year were EXTREMELY suspicious. I'm not alone in this. People who watch a ton of football, people who coached at the college level, people who get paid a helluva lot of money to talk about college football agree that our game with Bama was extremely poorly officiated in Bama's favor.

You don't hear that from those folks every week, nor will you hear it from me. It was bad. IT WAS NOT NORMAL FOR THE SEC.

Today's games were the usual BS SEC refs. They weren't really favoring anyone, they just suck.

You’ve gone from equal to “mostly equal.”

You’ve gone from Alabama has no chance, to a 20% chance, to a good enough chance to lose only by a TD in the SECCG to UGA, then back to no chance. You are all over the place.

You also accused me of saying the SEC refs cheat for Bama, when I never said that.

Because they won't win. If you have a 20% chance, 80 out of 100 times, you won't win.

Alabama isn't going to win. I'll be here. They won't. They aren't going to the playoffs.

Earlier you or someone said I'm a "Bama fan" but I'm arguing constantly they aren't going to the CFP. They're not. As we used to say, "Just hide and watch."

I'll be here. I'll wait to be laughed at if they do. They won't.

Kirby still only has one win ever vs Saban and Alabama actually has more talent on the talent composite. I'll actually be surprised, if they play in the SECCG, if Kirby wins the game.

Yeah they sucked, like when one team got called for a horse collar after the other didn't. One gets away with blatant holding all game, as well as every game!

“You or someone said…”

Was it me or was it someone else?

I can't say always equal because the TN vs Bama game was an outlier. It falls to "mostly equal" and not equal.

20%, for me, is pretty much no chance in a football game. You may take those kinds of bets but I don't. It's an L for Bama.

I'll be EXTREMELY surprised if Bama wins.

I like you turning to semantics, however, but you know what I meant from the start:

1. The refs in the SEC don't commonly cheat in games for one team over another.

2. Alabama isn't very likely to go to the CFP this year.

Yeah they sucked, like when one team got called for a horse collar after the other didn't. One gets away with blatant holding all game, as well as every game!
Again, if you believe it's all rigged, why watch?

If you know it's rigged, why complain it's rigged?

You guys all look alike to me. Ref complainers.
I'll just take it that you don't believe certain teams get the benifit over other teams with the calls and no calls and leave it at that. I will also agree to disagree!
It's just like playin Kentucky at Rupp, you are not gonna get many calls go you'r way!
