'13 TN DE Jason Carr (UT signee)

Ok thanx for clearing that up. I was getting excited that we were talking about Jason I want this guy to be a part of this class.

P. Fortenberry said he thinks its a long shot for us to keep Carr. Said he thought ole miss could come in. Was on "the nation" radio show tonight with john brice and chris lowe(?)

One man to watch is Memphis White Station defensive end Jason Carr, a four-star talent intrigued by the potential of playing alongside Nkemdiche. If Tennessee is slow to make a new hire, and Nkemdiche chooses Ole Miss soon, I could see Carr joining Nkemdiche and high school teammate Mark Dodson Jr. in Oxford.

Rivals

Officially visiting Alabama, Florida, and Ole Miss in the coming weeks. He's trying to decide if he wants to visit Knoxville or Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Good. I kind of hope Hinshaw will be retained as well. Basically the new coach can clean house on Defense, and keep every one on offense except for Conier and bring in Martin away from USC and I would be happy.

I don't like Hinshaw for the WRs. CP doesn't look any further along on his technique or playbook knowledge and Hunter keeps regressing. Bray was better when he was the QB coach, but if we get Gruden I'm sure he would want his own QB guy.

Thats what I ment as Qb coach I want Tee as the WR coach.

I think Hinshaw was a great Qbs Coach. I just think he has done a good job. It isn't his fault Bray is a wimp.

You guys calling Bray a wimp should just stop it. But Hinshaw coaching QBs wouldn't be a problem. As long as Chaney is no where near the UT offense after Saturday I'm fine.

Tee and Hinshaw are equals as WR coaches. Both recruit better than they coach the WR position.

Agreed. Our WRs have under achieved. Tee's WRs haven't progressed since last year either. I like Hinshaw as a recruiter but if we get Gruden I can't see him being retained.

Meeting with Coach Hinshaw went very well. A source close to him believes he will remain committed and Jason looks forward to seeing who the next coach will be. VQ and 247 are reporting this.

Hinshaw is an ace...just look at who all he landed last year...I wasnt very pleased with his WR coaching but the cat can recruit...a truly pleasant surprise considering he was arguably Dooleys least heralded hire

This is huge. I along with everyone else is aware that UT is in no shape to lose impact D-Linemen It feels like the VOLS just got another commitment even though its rather just a re commitment.
He probably realizes that R.Nkem is headed to Ole Miss as well.

I wish Dooley could have been the WR coach pretty good at that.

Zro had a huge improvement under Hinshaw while Patterson just went with the motions. Hunter was afraid of getting hurt again which is understandable. Everyone else are freshmen. How can you judge the job he did or didnt do

what about his WR coaching didnt you like?

He cant catch passes for Hunter.
Hunter was Wide open basically every drop.

Cordarelle Patterson didnt pick up the playbook or checks

ZRo played better this one year than he did in 3 previous years.

Jacob carter contributed when asked too, so did Vince Dallas and Pig.

I truly believe that letting Hinshaw go would be a mistake. I hope the next coach can see that. He has really opened up the state of Florida for us and been the lead recruiter for our JUCO prospects. JMO.

We haven't done anything in Florida we haven't always done. He's been the best recruiter on a staff of average recruiters. I want anybody that has been with Dooley from the beginning gone.

With respect to your football expertise, how can you not put drops on coaches? Isn't that their responsibility? I would think that is one of the key metrics for a WR coach, how many drops a WR group has. Fundamentals and focus prevent drops, and that's two key things a coach teaches. Run blocking, route running, etc...are important too, but saying that you can't blame a coach at all for drops doesn't seem right to me as an uneducated football fan. That on top of motivating your players to play and practice HARD (my biggest problems with Hinshaw) are what coaches are paid for.

That said, I don't think we should let Hinshaw get away, and I'd rather have him than Tee personally. I just think he deserves blame for some of our WR problems along with all the credit for the good things.

I saw Carr working (speed and agility drills) out at the Memphis Tigers (baseball) facility two weeks ago. He is a stud and very fast. He wants to wear the orange and white but coaching is now playing a roll in his decision. Just saying.
