'13 TN DE Jason Carr (UT signee)

Has to be nice knowing the one guy we all want (except North, Green, Lawson), is not a take at Bama. I remember those days.

He has the talent just a few ahead of him with the few spots left. We would have to miss of them and not sure he would take it anyway. I have never seen anything from Carr showing legit interest except for the OV which many take.

According to Fortenberry it's looking less and less likely that he goes to UA this weekend.

I don't have alot of posts but had to weigh in on this. You WILL see Carr playing for the Vols this year. He wants to go there, he has relatives there and he is looking for more than football. He is far from what you think of when you hear he is from a public school in Memphis. His father is solid in his life which is rare here. He will take his visits and enjoy getting away from this city like any 18 yr old kid would.

Thanks for the heads up. Good news.

I don't have a VQ sub, but didn't Hubbs indicate the door was closed on Herron?

Me either but it doesn't mean the staff will quit trying and even sneak him in unannounced for a visit like they did with Ryan Jenkins. If you want a guy you don't let the reasoning given stop you from recruiting

Herron has grade concerns and LSU threatened to drop him if he took visits. I don't expect much to happen there.

They did tell him not to visit UT. I would think if the UT staff came to Memphis, that would be different. Maybe the staff will attempt to make the sales pitch to him closer to home. The LSU threat only comes into play if he is really not interested in Tennessee.

This is exactly how Thigpen and Elder think.

Hubbs and Fortenberry said LSU told him if he took trips they would recruit his spot. His interest stopped because of his grade concerns and he didn't want to risk losing his place in their class.

What LSU doesn't know won't hurt them. Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu. :)

-Had a good time

-Said it was a great family atmosphere

-Had a lot of questions answered

-Staff wants him to play multiple positions. DE, Jack, and slide inside (twss)

-Expects coach Jones in-home sometime next week

-It'll take a lot for a school to flip him from tennessee, but never really completely closed the door on that possibility

-Doesn't know for sure if he'll visit ole miss and bama, but he plans on it.
