'13 TN OT Christian Morris

Can you blame him? He chose to do one, so he wouldn't have to do ten. Some kids just don't like the spot light like others.

Well, to my point, he didn't do exactly what he said he was going to do. Not to mention, the tweet he made about the supposed 'beg' comment seemed like a poor attempt to justify a decision he was making. Not that he has to, but it makes you wonder what his line of thinking is to get the new staff's attention for a visit and then seemingly sour on Tennessee almost immediately afterwards.

Offensive Line is a huge issue for us in the near future. Dolittle didnt exactly fill the coffers in this area.
We need OL recruits badly and this guy is solid.
Lets get him, never mind the recruiting trail shenanigans...its recruiting!

I'm not suggesting we don't take him. I'd take him in a heartbeat, but I'm wondering if the coaches have soured on him because of the above reasons. Fortenberry seemed to indicate that in his last response in regards to Morris.

I hope we get him, so we have two tackles in this group.

I think this kids offer got pulled after his visit. Not sure what happened. I could be mistaken, someones got pulled after a visit and Morris keeps popping in my head.

This has definitely been an odd one, even the pic that came out with all of the recruits from that weekend seemed as if he was hiding in the back for some reason.

Any reason that you know of? Sounds like something would have had to happen during the visit to cause the coaches to take such a strong course of action.

Not to mention, not that it means a lot but the way Butch Jones has taken to twitter, why would he follow him? It would seem if a scholly was pulled he wouldn't care less about Morris's recruitment.

Something just doesn't add up here.

I may have him confused with someone else. We are processing a lot more information with less people right now and it's easy to get name mixed up.

The three we have committed are all tackles.

The previous staff said they mainly recruited tackles because they can move in but guards can't usually move out. I don't know if the new staff feels that way or not.

I do think it's funny how most here feel that Brett is automatically going to be a guard (not to say for sure that he won't). The old staff as well as the new staff have both told him they wanted him to play tackle. On his official visit he was just under 6'6" and 318; that doesn't really scream 'guard' to me (the average size of an NFL tackle is about 6'5" and 310). Maybe it's because he's a 3* :dunno:

Jmo but this kid showed up to campus and didn't fit the eye test and his offer was pulled. I have heared others claim this kid is no where close to his reported size.

Lol, I big to differ based on the pic that came out from that visit weekend. Let's just say he looked bigger than Carr, and we know how big Carr is.

edit - here you go Bruin, Morris is the one standing behind Carr. He looks the part to me.

Oh. Well, yeah, Westwood is a lot different from Memphis, but it's a culture change in the right direction for most. We shall see.

I do recall on the recruiting show the other night where Bell gave the interview a couple of the guys were talking about Morris and one of them mentioned his size and he seemed to think he was under sized to play any time soon at the major level.

What's the chance Morris ends up committing to Ole Miss after his visit this weekend? With his friend Billingsley going there, it may be the plan.
