'13 TX FS Kameron Miles

I hate perroni. He evaluates all players as if they are in big 12 playing spread offenses every week. Sec prefers and needs bigger safeties

You're probably right on that point. I was just saying it's not uncommon for a commit to flip even when their announcement is done 'press conference' style. *shrug*

Anyway, after last season's debacle pre-signing day, I'm not getting excited about a single commit before their LOI is faxed in.

Eric Reid is 6'2 210, Mark Barron is 213...no reason Miles can't stay at safety, even if he adds 15lbs.

Also, he'd have to add like 30lbs to be a LB. I'm sure some of the football gurus on here can explain why Perroni thinks the kid will be a LB, though it doesn't make any sense to me.

Was Perroni saying that Landon Collins will grow into a LB last year? The reason I ask is based on what I said above: Collins and Miles have very similar measurables. I am pretty sure Collins weighed 200# plus as a senior.

Eric Reid was 200+ coming out of HS too. SS has to be able to play up in the box sometimes for run support, so you need to be 200+. Maybe in the B12 215lb is too big for a safety, but there are plenty close to that in the SEC that do really well.

BOOM! Happy dance time

I was trippin out, because Skeet's post was at 5:20 on my phone. Then I realized that I set up my account in Idaho, and they are three hours behind DC time. Now I can just play the erratic waiting game with y'all.
