'13 TX FS Kameron Miles

figured I should quote myself on this

Figured you should know that his decommittment had nothing to do with him committing before visiting, he loved his visit to knoxville. This has everything to do with the season we have had and the impending loss of the coaches that recruited him.

Josh Conklin will also be on the road this week logging a lot of miles for teh Vols. He'll hit Missouri where he'll see Jamone Boyd and he'll also be in Texas to check in on Kameron Miles and Eldridge Massington as they try and stay in it with both players. Massington may be one to watch as he's stayed in touch with Tennessee the last several months.

They're allowed to. Hence the crazy loaded class.

Probably not.. Kid is very raw too. Really needs a year to get bigger. He's got the tools to be great, but needs some good coaching and time. He'd be thrown out there immediately playing for us and I'm not sure that's what's best for him at this point.

He was probably the reason Dooley didn't go after Vonn Bell. In the end, we will end up with a better safety.

:ermm: Vonn Bell.

Vonn Bell steps on campus at UT as a starter. Miles does not. Bell and Randolph would be our starting safeties come fall, and if Randolph isn't ready McNeil will take his place. That's the best safety line up we have had in awhile. A few good CBs and we are set for a few years.

I like Mcneil. Made some freshman mistakes but looked pretty good. I like him to stay a starter.

Its doubtful that, as good as Vonn Bell is, he starts next year (unless there are some injuries). Freshman savioritis is rampant!

What does your brother think?

I'm not sold on McNeil. He looked slow a lot of the times he was out there.

Well I think a lot if that had to be from bring a freshman. Sometimes when you're learning a defense you tend to think more than you do until you're familiar with it. Plus coupled with the fact that the SEC speed shock factor I'm sure he was learning to adjust. Even Berry got burned a few times his freshman year. Not competing the two just giving an example.

We honestly don't know how good any of our freshman players are on defense because Sal screwed the defense up so bad that players were running around like kids in a candy store.
