'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

"Bryant is right on the cusp of getting a 4-star. His senior year tape is very good. He fills gaps and attacks downhill. Great size and frame. I'm looking forward to seeing him in person at the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Game next week. A good week of practice and a solid game could help him earn a bump up. "

- Kynon Codrington, Rivals

Translation:

As soon as bama and or au tell him his offer is committable, he will get the bump.

I hope he doesn't get anymore attention and stays just below the radar. I like him more than any of our other defensive commits. This kid is going to be a beast at the next level. He plays mean and down hill.

I have to believe that Auburn will pounce on this kid as soon as we know something positive about his grades. Will we be able to keep him at that point? I just hope he has a great relationship with Thig and will tell them thanks, but you are too late.

Rivals already missed the boat on properly rating this kid. These are the moments where the credibility of their ranking system come into question. For sheer entertainment, I would love to hear 'I have a Woody' Womack's reasoning behind Bryant's rating.

This might be my favorite LB commit. Bates is great, but I love violence in football. Bryant is
going to hold down the middle after Aj leaves or take over next season if he goes pro. Makes me think Cherry will red shirt and resume the reign of terror after Bryant leaves.

Cecil the Diesel dosent wait for anyone!!! He!! he could start next year for the Vols, why redshirt him??

From the Alabama and Mississippi all star practice.

"FYI: Jackson (Ala.) LB Gavin Bryant was replaced this week in the all-star affair. No reason was given for his absence. We were looking forward to seeing him for a new in-person evaluation before the final rankings release in January."

Lol. Cecil Cherry won't redshirt. We're probably gonna see him and Bryant on the field at the same time as often as possible and that's ok with me.

With the LBs we have committed in this class it's hard for me to pick a favorite. Every single one of them is extremely talented and they all excel in different areas to an extent. But I have to agree that I love the way Bryant plays, he gets there fast and in a bad mood. But I'm really excited to have all of them. Bates and Weathered look like great OLB prospects and Bryant looks like he will be a beast in the middle. I think Mouhon has the potential to play all 3 positions at a high level. Then you throw Berry and his speed/athleticism in the mix, and I truly think he could be a great LB once he adds some weight. I don't know who's going to be the best of the bunch but it doesn't really matter. I'm just happy to have them all.

Edit: almost forgot about Dews who is in the same position as Berry IMO. Needs to add weight but could be good for us down the road (admittedly I know the least about him).
