He should see other schools before he commits.....imo lambert had been committed since August or thereabout
Lambert's situation is completely different. Bryant hasn't seen many schools because of fear over his grades. Lambert visited and looked at other schools prior to his commitment.
His ability to get in still isn't 100% confirmed at this point, and he needs to make sure he has a back-up plan. What is wrong with that? It's his future. A fan's perspective is obviously much different.
After the Lambert debacle, I kind of agree now. Tell recruits that once you are committed, then be 100% committed No visits. Also, let them know on the front and that if they decide to take visits after being committed, then their scholarship will be pulled and we will recruit someone else for that position. For some reason, it usually does not end up well for us when a committed prospect starts taking visits.
I'm trying to play the devil's advocate here. Hypothetical situation: a kid is committed for 6 months, takes no more visits, and does not show any signs of wavering. Numbers are tight, and a better prospect wants to commit that plays the same position. What do you think should happen? More often than not, the HS kid that was loyal gets told sorry and to explore other options. In the meantime, other classes get full, and the player ends up scrambling to find a school.
Obviously, there are many potential situations, but this happens all the time, and it's not exactly fair. It's a business, and it's a business driven by winning. You can have guidelines while making sure the kids are safe if something does not work out.
All JMO.
For Athletes? I sincerely doubt it.
Maybe he is not a fan of pressure. Playing ball in front of 74 people, 62 of which just snorted a triple line and are seeing a double headed unicorn in the sky would surely be less pressure. JMO
