'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Not sure why you are telling me to "cool my jets". My reply was not combative in the least..

You however seem to now be agitated. Not sure why.

Was just responding to your statement that Texas and Tennessee didn't fit with the others.

You don't have to care about the other UT, I don't care about the other UT really, but they are a really good school

Sorry my mistake - I read something into your reply that wasn't there.

I think he gone. It may not even be Miami. First it was Auburn and now it's Miami. Who knows?! This kid is fishing for a new team!:banghead2:

Fire up the Golden to PSU if Bill goes to the Texans rumors. Problem solved.

Miami will get a better coach this time now that Golden has navigated them thru the NCAA swamp

Maybe I am old school about this - but why would UT want to be and go through all they are going through to be something they were never intended to be, or really should be for the residents of the state? They can get donations and research funding without whoring themselves out. What benefit is it being one of the seven - is some unknown foundation throwing millions at the school because they are in the gang of seven? I doubt it. So why do it? They are screwing their own AD programs by not being on a level playing field. Which ironically costs the school a lot of money.

Why? Because of people like Susan Martin and Jimmy Cheek. They hate sports, especially football, and want to make UT an academic school only.

Ogre needs to hold out for the Miami job. Double secret probation ftw.

Franklin?

Serious question, but that would make me chuckle
nah, franklin benefitted from an historic abberation iin that the sec east was weak as hell, and from scheduling 4 presbyterian schools. he needed 2 wins each season to be bowl eligible. add kentucky and youre halfway home. he looked solid this year tho and started to hit his stride. will need to beat some ranked opponents before i decide

You may be right, but I think even with a weak SEC east, Vandy's schedule was a lot tougher than the MAC schedules that Golden coached against while at Temple.

Never beat a ranked team (usually only played 1 per season - Penn State)

If I was a Miami fan I would be excited about what Golden has done. He has refilled the talent there and the next coach should have it a little bit easier than Golden did going in.

What you got against Presbyterians? :)

I am Catholic btw :)

I agree. I think he has done a good job. If he leaves, whoever gets the job will inherit a talented team.

Golden has done horrible on the field. Solid in recruiting.

3 years and he has never beat a team that finished with a single vote in either the AP or Coaches Poll.

Derek Dooley wasn't even that pitiful.

And the truth in this post proves the difference in the SEC and the Acc

Most feel golden has done a good job but this post proves its fools gold

It really is an unbelievable statistic. Here is a list of terrible coaches that were too good to claim that.

Derek Dooley
Joker Phillips
Lane Kiffin
Will Muschamp (obviously)
Dan Mullen
Sylvester Croom
Ed Orgeron
John L Smith (at Michigan State)
Dan Hawkins (at Colorado)

I literally cannot think of a coach that never didn't beat a team that finished with a single Top 25 vote in either poll in their first 3 years at a BCS school in the last 10 years.

Hmmm....just thought about this. Any chance that coaches wanted 5 LBs before season ended, but now since it seems that AJ might be returning, then that might be the first position they ask someone to look around if we need to free up a spot for this class?

Have you seen our LBs? We really needed 6-7 good ones but our roster is depleted everywhere else too.

I hope we hold onto this cat, he'd really help our run defense.

He never beat a MAC team with a winning record. Pathetic.
