"I was up there and I liked the campus and they treated me nice," Bryant said. "And the depth chart is just right for me to come in and play early."
The Vols depth chart, or lack of depth after the 2013 season, was one of the biggest factors that led Bryant to choosing the Vols over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami and more.
"They're losing five linebackers and the coaches were telling me that I can come play early and it's a good school so I went for it," Bryant said.
"Me and coach Thigpen are like brothers and we talk all the time. He's never told me I could come in and start or nothing like that," Bryant offered. "He told me I could come in and get some playing time and if I work I could work my way up to start. He was being real with me and that's what I like."
"I got in good with some of the recruits in my class and I think I fit right in up there," Bryant said. "I talked to Cecil Cherry. I got to know him real good."
