'14 DC CB D'Andre Payne (UT commit 4/3/13)

From all I've seen, Payne will be an EE. CBJ said in the last week that he expected 14-16 EEs. Now, that is 2 higher than he said before. Maybe there are people leaving or have left to free up 2 additional EE spots. I'm just not sure how they will make the numbers work. Wouldn't 16 be the seniors plus 2? What 2?

Tiny and AJ.

I know a lot of people have suggested that he will play nickel. But I think he's got the size and ability to play on the outside as well (didn't realize he was 5'10"). I like his game a lot and love the way he attacks the receiver on those quick screens.

He has great instincts. Reminds me of a guy we have on the field now.

Season Highlights

looks faster than he was last year

Looking forward to watching this later. :)

Gaulden, Moseley, and this kid have got to have Martinez licking his chops.

SN: Sutton will be huge when it comes to CB recruiting. He's highly regarded around the country already not just by UT fans. Glad he's here and rocking that Orange. GO VOLS!!!!!

Can't wait to see this kid on the field with Sutton, Gaulden, and the rest. Our DB recruiting is going to be lights out from now on it looks like...

It might not show completely next year since it will be this class's first year on campus, but this D is going to be MUCH MUCH faster very soon.

Having Sutton, Gaulden, Mosely, Berry, Payne rotating at CB is going to really help our soon to be agile and aggressive D-line tee off on the QB

Nah the speed will be the most noticeable difference. You will see mental errors but.the speed difference will be more than obvious.

Yep. Speed is gonna be apparent from the rip. They will have their mental lapses, but it sure won't be from a lack of speed. :)

He's a mean something at CB. :)
Style reminds me of Antoine Winfield. Not that he's the hitter he was but that's the kind of player I see with Payne.

I actually see our newer mold of CBs resembling the old Buckeye CBs when they had a pipeline of first rounders year after year.

It will be a HUGE difference. The athleticism will be a huge difference as well. Seeing guys win one on one competitive battles will be a welcome sight to see.
