The secondary so far has been disappointing overall other than Sutton.
Watch the Aaron Murray long run when the two DBs ran into each other.
It's a personnel issue. The play will be improved next year with the players we have coming in. More big plays, big hits, and personal fouls, I hope!![]()
The DBs need that nasty and in your face attitude. They will allow for more one on one coverage and more blitzing.

Crazy how our class is so sick that we barely even talk about a great talent like Payne.
Yeah he is. I could have sworn he was faster than he is. Maybe a year in the system will help him.
Payne was selected as the MVP in the DC championship game today. Another future Vol showing why the 2014 class will be fantastic. Congratulations D'Andre. Can't wait to see you in orange.
A knee injury can really slow a player down too. With good conditioning and work offseason he'll be playing faster next year
Just another BEAST in the 2014 class!I wanted to update my post about Payne. The game was the DC semi-final not the final. At WR, he caught a 60 yard TD pass. He had a pass interception and a 25+ yard punt return which both lead to TDs. His interception was described by the paper as dazzling. They said that he was clearly the best player on the field and his Vol commitment was mentioned several times. Could not find any video of the game. Sorry.
In the days leading to Thursdays Turkey Bowl against Wilson High, H.D. Woodson defensive back DAndre Payne did everything he could think of to prepare for the game. He prayed repeatedly and sharpened his focus on game-planning during a week filled with distractions.
On Thursday morning, after a full night of sleep, he woke up and ate eggs, turkey bacon and grits, believing it would give him the fuel to fly.
But what happened a few hours later was nothing Payne could prepare for. He wasnt just the best player on the field Thursday he transcended the competition on the grandest stage, adding a memorable performance to one of the citys oldest high school football traditions.

On offense this year, Payne has scored 10 TDs while averaging 24 yards per catch and 14.8 yards per carry.
