Yeah let's take another Omari Phillips. Not caring or ignoring the fact that the kid has grade issues is stupid period.

I never said I knew anything about grades, lighten up Sparky, no ones attacking your poor judgment. I mean if CBJ offered the kid then it's good enough for me and should be for you also.

I mean there is no denying the kid's talent. Great size at 6'3 and 290+ lbs. The only thing that I question is the kid's motor, but that's definitely coachable. He's a take all day long and twice on Sunday... his grades are the only concern IMO.

Visits are as close as he'll get to playing in the SEC the next 2 years.... juco. If by some small chance he gets it together then maybe USF or WVU. Has to take classses this summer to even play this fall.

Thought I'd bump this post before everyone here gets googly-eyed over being in his top list.

You mean, you will play your tribal elder card and rain on everyone's parade before we see how everything actually plays out.

Good job you can go back to the breakfast club's dugout and get a high five or 2 for 'keeping it real' even though we are 9 months away before anything is a definite.

ESPN Watch List recruit Travonte Valentine (Palm Bay, Fla./Bayside) trimmed his list of schools by one. Mississippi State is no longer among his favorites. A leader has emerged in this recruiting battle.

Alabama, Miami and Tennessee comprise Valentine's top three schools, and he favors the local program.

"Miami is in the lead," Valentine told Matt Shodell of CaneSport.com.

"Miami's high on my list," Valentine said. "I've been thinking about Miami for a long time."

A decision isn't coming soon. Valentine already has a date earmarked to make his announcement. He announce his choice of schools Nov. 15 -- his birthday.

not the best example bruh. He did not leave TN because of grades. It was because he did not want to be here.

Omari came to UT because of poor grades. I think UT, Marshall, and WKU were his finalists.... if that says anything.

I know he left because he was displeased. He was suppose to be playing for an 11 win UF team, instead he was sitting on the bench watching a pathetic 5 win UT team.

Trent Taylor and Phillips both had issues with academics. They were suspended and stopped attending practices to focus on academics. I think it was a multitude of things.
