“I’m looking at*Miami,*Alabama,*Tennessee, and Louisville,” he said.

“Tennessee is a good school. The fans, coaches, everything, they’ve all been very good to me,” he said.

Based off other quotes, we are 3rd at best behind Miami and Bama

"I've been talking to them a lot and it's been going good. I've been talking to coach (Robert) Gillespie and just been talking to him all the time on Facebook and on the phone a lot as well," Valentine said.

"I watched their spring game, I watch their videos on youtube. I look at everybody that's at the school and I've looked at the brochure the coaches gave me and it looks nice. I like what I see," Valentine offered.

"I feel like I can go there and play and see if I can fill in the big shoes like the last defensive tackles did," he said. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman hopes to see Tennessee this summer, likely in June. "I want to see if the coaches welcome me home and just want to see what they show me," Valentine said. "It should be pretty good." When looking for a school, Valentine said there's only one real priority. "I just want to be at home," Valentine said. "On the first day of school I want to be able to walk around and feel at home already."

Asked if it will be tough for any school to overtake the Hurricanes' top spot he said it would be, but if the right school catches his attention he could see himself end up away from home. "A little bit. It's just home," Valentine answered when asked if it would be hard to leave his home state. "My home is here and my mom is here in Palm Bay which is just three hours away (from Miami). It's easy for my family to come and watch and everything. I don't want them to have to have a six or seven hour drive. But, if that's the school that gets my attention the most then they will just have to make a little trip."

Seriously Miami? Nothing like playing in front of those large "crowds" in Dolphin Stadium or wherever the heck they play while you have like no one caring about your games. Amazing.

There is literally no pressure in Palm Bay to go to Miami. It's all internal which benefits us. Palm Bay is full of idiots and engineers from great schools due to Harris, Northrup Grumman, etc. the engineers come from all over including many Tennessee alums. Wide open town. Strongest push is probably Florida but it goes with recent successes.

Just saw a write up by Fortenberry that has us #2 behind Miami. Apparently Thigpen has developed a good relationship with Valentine according to the article.

Someone should tweet him that picture of the Miami game with the 98% empty stadium and then one of Neyland maxed out. Then ask him would he rather play in front of the dozens of fans at a Miami game or 105K screaming crazy orange bleeding Rocky Top fans!

Miami is still The U to kids in Florida, especially the ones in close proximity to the city.

Sticking with tackles, but switching to the other side of the football, former Louisville commitment and four-star prospect Travonte Valentine has plans to see Rocky Top this summer. Ranked as the No. 14 defensive tackle in the 2014 class by FOX Sports NEXT, Valentine says the Vols are after him hot and heavy, which has made an early impression. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder says family is the most important thing on the next level. The question, will the Vols be able to sell the Vol family?
