Bates and Herm Edwards

He's gonna have to be big survive with no DTs eating up blocks for him. Am I right Sto :)

Lol.. Praying Mosley turns out to be a beast... Would love to get the numbers stacked in our favor in case one gets hurt or doesn't pan out.

One of my favorites on the defensive side of the ball. I'd say my first is TKjr. but it's close. Can't wait to see them in orange knocking the opposition senseless.

In that pic above, Dillon is a pretty good size guy especially considering he will add a little more weight once he gets in the S & C program.

So glad I DVRd it so I could fast forward to only waste 30 minutes. If I had watched the 3 hrs live I would have been furious
It was pretty annoying. Not even a mention of UT besides them showing Dillon getting yelled at by Herm and them saying something like "only on ESPN can you see Herm and Bill Bates son talking football".

Video discussion with Hubbs and Fortenberry on VQ discussing UA practice and players. Hubbs said Bates is right at 220 lbs and hopes to be 225 when he gets to UT. Hubbs said he spoke with Herm Edwards who is coaching Bates team and he said what separates Dillon is his FB IQ, you tell him something and he does it right the next time. Edwards said UT is getting a very good LB.

This is why I am so encouraged by this class and the next one. The football IQ of guys like Bates and TKjr leading the defense is extremely important. Watching the Georgia junior all star game also showed leadership and football smarts with Butcher. Reading about the way Malone runs routes with precision is something we've been missing. I could name many others but I am going off the top of my head.

These guys have smarts and extreme athleticism. Our top rivals wanted them. Pumped for the future. No more sloppy seconds talent wise with Butch at the helm.

The only negatives from TOS seem to be his size. This was the last update

"Miami commit Kc McDermott just steamrolled Tennessee LB commit Dillon bates.

Bates looks really tiny"

I'm not worried about that at all. He has the frame to add 20-30 pounds fairly easily.

Read those quotes and I felt like that Swanson gif where he rubs his hands together in glee

"Bates looked good in space and you can see why he has been on the top performers list this week. He definitely reads coverage very well and looks like a good coverage linebacker."

What's up with the scout article on inside Tennessee...it say will legacy look elsewhere? Thought he was solid as a brick
