On Bates recruiting at the All Star game...

He told me that he's trying and working on him. He didn't want to get detailed in their conversations but he has worked him hard all week. He's been working Scarbrough as well.

I know he showed them the Bulletproof video. It even got Berrios' attention for a little bit.

All those opening stats were unrealistic. Someone ran some numbers and said the opening had a better average than the NFL combine on most metrics.

Agreed, I'd bet my life savings bates doesn't have a 39 inch vert

It would be rare as hell, 35 is a very good vert but doable I suppose. 39 is in a diff league.

4. RB RACEAN THOMAS VS. LB DILLON BATES
"Roc" Thomas has proven to be the shiftier of the two backs for Team Highlight while Bates has been exceptional in space and always in position during the week for Team Nitro. Can Bates be the guy who chases down Thomas or squares up properly to keep him from gaining extra yardage once he hits the second level or will Thomas be too slick? Let's hope we find out.

Weird story (and unrelated to Bates) but I was at a college basketball game the other night (in Tennessee) and the people in front of me (who I have known a long time) told me one of their son's good friends was a heavily-recruited RB who was committed to Auburn. I asked who and they said "his last name is Thomas."

I asked if it was Roc Thomas and they texted their son. It was and he was with Roc's brother at the time. I told her to text him back and tell him to go to UT and team up with Jalen Hurd.

The response was "he says he is committed to Auburn and Gus promised him he would start a a freshman, but thanks for the love. Go Vols."

Oh well. I tried.

You didn't try hard enough if you failed to pair your phone with Roc Thomas' during said text messaging so that we sane, rational fanson VN can have it to use at our disposal.

I'm pissed he isn't getting more pt. I've watched the whole game for nothing basically.

Edit: he is finally in and makes a nice tackle for a loss!

Looks fast and reads plays well, he'll have to get bigger in the upper body but that shouldn't be a problem.
