All you guys need to know is that Thigpen saw this guy play in person and said he was the best LB in the country. Thats good enough for me.

Only problem is the Bismarck was sunk by...the Hood...bad headlines if we play whatever team Elijah signs withEDIT the Bismarck sunk the Hood...the Hood served as a quasi ALAMO inspiration for the Brit Navy..disregard previous point...no one is going to waste as much time as I did on this

Still like that. They wish Hitler never even existed.

Yep. I was close friends with a german exchange student a few years back and when we asked about Hitler she said nobody wanted to talk about it. She described it like saying his name at all was a very, very bad thing

Of course this is going to be seen as arguementative, but I'll ask anyway, who has Thig put in the NFL? Honest question. If we're going to credit his talent evaluation, I'd like to know who he's coached. If Chief had made the statement, I'd be like "hell yeah", because I know the LBs he's put in the league, but I'm not as familiar with Thig's successes, so please share.

Even if it were true 4.8 is not that bad for a 6'4 LB. Thig likes him and that's all I care about.

One of the biggest knocks I've heard on AJ Johnson(from draft analysts) is his lack of speed. It hampers his coverage ability. He can compensate somewhat for that with angles, but speed itself cannot be coached. When it comes to run-stopping, speed is not as much a factor, but in obvious passing downs, lack of speed in a LB is a glaring weakness. So yeah, I hope he's faster than indicated. Thankfully, recruiting services are notorious for incorrect 40 times.

Until I know more about Thig's coaching successes, I can't buy into this "Thig likes him" arguement.

I personally thought that what he did with Dontavius Sapp and Brent Brewer was fairly impressive. A 2 star LB a and a converted safety/ex baseball player is not exactly what LB coaches dream of.

Projects begun under a previous coaching regime, so I'm not sure where they stood ability-wise when Thig inherited them. Lots of intangibles in play there.

Despite what some will proclaim, it's not about putting our staff down, I just want proof of what they can do. Give me a solid foundation to build my hopes on, not speculation and blind faith.

If you want to give credit, credit Thig and this staff as seemingly excellent recruiters. And yes, I say seemingly because I can't say definatively until the ink is on the papers. I'm looking forward to NSD so doubt can be cast aside.

Having been through Kiffin and Dooley, both supposed saviors of our program, I have a hard time understanding why some are still willing to follow blindly and refer to those of us seeking proof as negative. I'm not negative. I hope for a positive outcome, but I'll wait for it to happen rather than celebrate something that hasn't happenned yet.

Sorry, I've rambled on. Back to my original question, who has Thig helped put in the league? It's a simple question with no hidden meaning whatsoever. I'm not familiar with the LBs he's coached at his other stops on his coaching journey. If someone else is, please answer the question.

You won't have to wait for NSD. 40% of the 2014 class will enroll in January

Point conceded. I still look forward to NSD in the hopes of some positive surprises. Jackson, Scott, a surprise DT flip, a surprise OL flip.... It would be nice to have a late Christmas gift. If CBJ can pull a Santa Claus, I'd be extremely excited. As I've said previously, I want this staff to succeed. But success comes in the form of reality, not fantasy. I would love to flip a highly touted DT. It's the one part of this class I still have doubts about. But hey, that's JMO.

Vontaze Burfict ran a 5.1 40 at the combine and turned out okay.

Latest All-Pro scouting report talks about his freakish speed and range  always had a soft spot because he flipped from USC to Zona State when Kiff took over...as the world was praising Lane' s recruiting godship
