Anyway...

How awesome would it be if Jakob Johnson is a star at UT and turns us into a pipeline for European kids who want to play in America?

I'm gonna go with "so awesome."

I think Bryant will be. I think he's Maggitt's backup

He was brought in to be a MLB. If Bryant comes in looking like Patrick Willis, Johnson may end up at OLB, but right now he is a MLB and the staff thinks he will be an extremely good MLB. He was higher on Jones's board at MLB than Clifton Garrett.

I'm not sure how many kids there are that fall into that category.

Wow! So what u r saying is we didn't want Garrett anyways. Nice! Cue the gif of Butch saying "Recruiting....I'm pretty good at it."

Madkins probably saying that Garrett would have been playing on the outside if we had garnered his commitment.

I'd imagine there's gotta be quite a few who are SEC-caliber athletes over there.

If the NFL ever puts a team in London, I could see the interest and talent level in Europe increasing a lot over the next decade.

I'm just giving my opinion if how it will play out. Some people will come in playing a different position than they will end up at. I see Jakob's best asset being as a Sam and doing a lot of blitzing. Depending on who seems as more of a playmaker will stay on the field in nickel situations. I know in the NFL my team the Falcons pulled out there MLB in nickel situations. It's all preference there.

That long explanation was to show that the Sam can be as if not more important than the Mike (some think of it as a slight to play Sam as opposed to Will and Mike because typically the Sam comes off in nickel situations which are more and more prevalent these days).

I am not deriding your opinion at all, just letting you know that the staff sees Johnson as the MLB of the future. His evaluation and what they thought about him once he arrived on campus played a very large role in where Kevin Mouhon will be playing football over the next 4 years.
