'14 GA ATH Myles Autry

I think he has a Rainey style to him. The other guys are more hard cutters. Rainey was really smooth and Autry is similar in style of play.

Ok yeah that's a good comparison. CR had some moves man. He came out of Lakeland, I think. Myles is a 1 cut and gone kinda guy.

I just hope this injury doesn't slow him down.

I personally think he's a great fit for Meyer's offense. Just me personally, don't know how we'll use him other than as a utility player. Unless he gets used similar to Antonio Brown when Jones coached him.

I think he would go crazy in Oregon's offense also. Kid is so dynamic with the ball in his hands.

JMO but with Hurd and Paulk already onboard, I think he would fit into the slot on offense. He's kinda like CP was last year, where you draw up plays just to get the ball in his hands... end arounds, screens, dump offs, and any kind of short pattern.

I would even give him a shot in the wildcat lol

Paulk could end up the best fit of all the skill players for our offense. Autry would go crazy in Ohio State's offense or Oregon's attack. Those are two made for his skills. West Virginia and a few other spread attacks fit him well.

I realize that you know a lot of football....but could you please refrain from promoting other schools as a better fit for recruits we may want? Thanks in advance!

Lol all he is saying is that one team fits a player's skill set better than the other. He isn't promoting anybody.

Autry is nice. Slight but nice. Hopefully his rehab is going well but he's definitely going to need a year of S&C if he's going to contribute anywhere other than special teams from day one. Good tools to work with though.

Butch runs a spread too so I wouldn't go so far as telling him he ought to go to Oregon . We've seen the jones offense with cent mich and cincy players, we haven't seen it with Autry type players. So yeah, I think he'd fit here just as well.

This is a forum... made for football discussion, is it not?

I really doubt a recruit is gonna let BB sway his decision (no offense BB). He wasn't hating on the kid. He was giving his opinion.

No he wasn't. He was asking him to stop "promoting" (which he wasn't really doing) other schools.

It's a forum made for discussion. It would get really monotonous in here if everyone just refrained from mentioning other schools.

Yeah it was bones opinion, no getting around that. No one should censor discussion, perhaps he could have argued bb's invalid point differently, but like you say, let the man have his opinion.

myles autry's second visit to tennessee was a chance to see one of his best friends. That relationship could prompt autry to end up a vol.

"it will be a big factor," autry said of his friendship with freshman receiver jason croom. "that's my boy. I like tennessee. He's recruiting me kind of, saying how great tennessee is. He ain't lying. this is a great place. In the end, it could be a big factor."

croom, like autry, is from norcross (ga.) high. He is a redshirt freshman at tennessee trying to gently recruit his friend.

"i don't really try to bother him too much about it...but when it comes up i try to get in his head about it," croom said with a smile.

The 6-foot, 175-pound said he is primarily considering oregon, ohio state, tennessee, florida and florida state. He doesn't currently have any leaders, but the vols made an impression.

"with this process, tennessee is really good and they could be at the top," he said.

Autry might look slight of build, but isn't he tall enough to add fifteen or twenty pounds in a year or so and keep his speed? A 5'11" 190 pound burner is a good thing to have.

My point.... I really could care less at times about what's best for UT. I'm all for these kids having success in the long run. I stated he could be used like Antonio Brown was used by Jones but was curious to how we would use him. I wouldn't ever push a kid to UT unless I thought he was a good fit personally.

Myles knows what's in his heart and knows he has some stud brothers to play with in Knoxville. Not to mention the 108k fans that want him. Cmon home Myles. #VFL! This class will be the top rated class in the nation.

Butch has said from day 1 that he adjusts his schemes to fit the talent set he has at hand. Good fits happen with Butch.

I wonder if Autry got 102 letters in the mail from us? You would think if one recruit hears that another recruit did(and they are being recruited for the same "specialty" position, it would have them questioning how much of a priority they really are. Hope it all works out. Love the start to this years class and if CBJ and staff can show improvement on the field, it should really take off.

Good point. It didn't really effect Bama running backs so I would assume it wouldn't carry much weight.

Thought the same thing Lebanon. Wonder if they have another "trick" for Autry and the other recruits or if dropping 102 letters on top recruits is standard operating procedure? I trust CBJ has it figured out.

We don't run the wishbone at Tn, so I don't see how a stud couldn't succeed here if he's better suited to a spread offense. Is it a valid argument that he'd be a better fit at Oregon or Ohio state? Not if we run the same type of " getting playmakers in space" offense. So what other argument would you have. Recent success and coaching stability? Well Oregon has recent success but who knows what the coaching change will bring? There is usually a drop off when your leader moves on but who knows? Ohio state played a weak schedule when opposing teams knew the buckeyes had no shot at a big ten title. Of course Tn can lay claim to neither recent success nor coaching stability, but have hired a proven coach at least. So taking all that into account, I don't buy the argument he'd fit better elsewhere, unless you think we're Air Force or Georgia Tech. If Myles is a stud he'd be successful in those programs too
