Everything went great (Friday), said Truitt, whos ranked the nation's No. 57 athlete in the 247Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets.
I just really looked at academics. That was pretty much the only thing. I just got all my academic questions out of the way, so that way, when I come back this weekend, I can actually just enjoy the game and chill with a couple of my friends.
But he admitted Tennessee, West Virginia, Florida and North Carolina State currently are standing out to him.
Those are the ones that are really sticking out right now, he said. I havent really came up with a list, though.
From West Virginia, its the coaches and how Ill be used in the offense, he said. I know I havent gotten a chance to visit and see the academic side, but everything that Im hearing from them sounds pretty good.
At N.C. State, I love the coaches. Players there, I got a good vibe with them. Definitely saw the academic side of everything, so that was really good. Florida, as well. I know I saw the academic side and the coaches as well. The way Ill be used there, and definitely just the way the coaches treated me, I felt really at home.
I got pretty much everything answered, Truitt said. I loved what I saw. I know Im definitely going to sit down with my dad and talk about everything. As far as everything I saw, it looked pretty good.
Im pretty much swaying between two majors right now: physical therapy and, also, criminal justice. (I looked at) both of them.
Im getting a good feel of it, definitely just going and seeing practice and getting the academic side out of the way, he said. I definitely want to see how game day (is) just all the fan base. I love the fans. I definitely want to see them in person and everything.
He said hes traveling to Knoxville again this weekend in hopes of just getting my research done, but hes not planning to decide on a college any time soon.
I know Tennessee is one of my top schools, Truitt said, so Im definitely trying to get everything done I can, as far as doing everything to figure out if its the best fit for me. ... I didnt really plan on (committing to Tennessee this weekend).
I know I have to go to West Virginia. Also, Mississippi State and Kentucky. Im just trying to figure out every school I can compare, he said.
I think (I could make a decision) the first or second game (this season), but it could definitely be way sooner than that, now that Im getting my research done a lot sooner. Im not going to put a timeframe on it, but I know it could be sooner.
The weekend figures to be fruitful from a commitment standpoint as 2-4 players are expected to make their announcements public. While the Vols are the frontrunners for linebacker prospects Dillon Bates and Kevin Mouhon, neither is expected to announce this soon. However, safety Cortez McDowell and cornerback Stanton Truitt are the most likely to go public.

"The commitments there are really into it," he said. "They are really passionate about getting the best guys in their class. They are trying to really get thing started when they get there. They are good guys."
"The fan base was just amazing," he said. "It was amazing to see everyone really hype. Everyone there was in to it and there was never a dull moment. That really showed a lot about the fans and how pumped up they are."
"I got a chance to spend some time with Coach Z and a lot of the other coaches," he said. "It was pretty fun just growing a better bond. I have been talking to them a lot and just getting to know each other better is a great thing."
"Tennessee*is definitely my top school right now," Truitt said. "They are my No. 1. Coach Jones really sets them apart. I am not just going to single out coach Jones, all the coaches are great, but it is different talking to the head coach.
"Coach Jones is a very passionate guy and trying to get everything going in the right direction. It is just so rare. I have a great bond with Coach Jones and I really talk to him a lot."
