'14 GA DB Wesley Green

Did The Powell/Truitt situation have anything to do this?

I don't think so. It was three guys wanting to play together. He was a silent, and just decided to pull the trigger officially. I think his impending official committement forced Darin Smalls to maybe commit this weekend. Smalls was going to wait till NSD previously, but has told people he is committing.

You now wonder with 2 of 3 DB slots taken (with Small's all but inevitable commitment still pending) if Smith will also move his announcement up. He was also wanting to wait until NSD......

Congrats to him. Now we've got more time to put our focus on Rashaan Gaulden, DJ Smith, Adoree Jackson, Cortez McDowell, Chris Lammons, and Lamont Simmons.

I think a lot of people see a kid put #VolNation or #GBO on twitter and the next thing you know, "we lead". It's just not the case and we are seeing that now as a lot of kids we lead for choose to go elsewhere.

I have begun to think twitter is a valuable tool to at least show recruits that we have a rabid fanbase and can possibly generate enough interest for us to be considered. But I doubt we will ever land a kid solely because of twitter.

He named us his leader in an interview, so that's the real reason. Which other recruits are you talking about? Kitt, maybe?

2014 CB Wesley Green and 2015 DE Arden Key have decommitted from South Carolina, per reliable sources. Haven't heard back from either player

Be nice to have Green or Smith to go along with Evan Berry unless he is going to get a chance to play offense then take both. I know we need help at dline but we
are really thin at Db.

Green told the AJC on Sunday night that he was now considering UGA, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn and South Carolina.

I'm tellin yal right now... You can call me crazy but I'd hate to be South Carolina right now.. They're on the verge of falling back into their typical selves here soon. With everyone in the east bringing in top recruiting classes, SC is lagging behind and isn't bringing in the type of recruits to compete in the future... Couple this with the fact that recruits know when they get there, within their 4 years they are almost guaranteed a head coaching change within that time. Spurrier is getting lazy on the recruiting trail and the writing is on the wall for his retirement.

Georgia's a different subject, but I feel they're in the same position we were before we fired Fulmer.. I like where UT is headed in terms of gettin back to an SEC championship.

We're beginning our Rise as it appears others are close to making total overhauls. It looks as though the SEC East is on its way of getting back to where the winner of the UT vs FL game will be its representative.

Here's to Butch continuing to pull in elite talent while pushing us through the rocky road to the top.

Please tell me you already had this typed before you watched last week's game? UT and FLA? Fla is going the opposite way.

Anywhoville, apart from Key and Green, apparently Sawyer is now 'unlikely' to go there. Sawyer is now down to his fifth choice or so, he would fit well in a 4-3.

"I think I just committed to early," Green said when asked to talk about his decommitment from South Carolina. "I wanted to check out all of my options and stuff like that, really and make the right decision."

A number of schools have stayed in contact with Green despite his commitment. He says that a couple of schools have been recruiting him the hardest. "I think right now it is Georgia," he said. "I would say Georgia and maybe Tennessee have been pushing the hardest for me."

"As of right now, I have talked to Ole Miss a lot, too," he said. "I've been talking to LSU as well. South Carolina is still standing pretty good with me. I'm going to keep in contact with the coaches and keep my relationship with them."

"I think I'll just make a decision when I'm ready," Green said of his timeline. "I don't know when that will be."

Green will take an OV to Athens this weekend for the LSU game, his first OV.
