Top247 defensive end Dante Sawyer (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) was presented his jersey for the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl at his school on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Sawyer is enjoying a standout senior season and his coaches and teammates raved about his athleticism, work ethic and ability during our time there.

Sawyer spoke a little about his recruitment. Prior to the season, he was thought to be on the fast-track toward a commitment to South Carolina, but has since backed off (he has never visited the Gamecocks- even unofficially) and talked about Tennessee making a big move, thanks to the efforts of recruiter Robert Gillespie.

3/4 of Hendrix, Williams, Sawyer, and Henderson would be a sick DE class.

McDowdell, Lambert, Barnett, and Mosley being our interior.

Henderson is going to have a Vereen-like impact early IMO. He has the speed we need on the edge. Just needs to get up to about 245-250 by next fall. Hendrix should be able to jump in early on the strong side.

He will live in the backfield on obvious passing downs. Hope he bulks up some and still keeps his speed.

Having both Vereen and Henderson pin their ears back and go for the QB on obvious passing downs should be fun to watch next year.

Below Hendrix and a Williams on our board. Both of which are more likely to be vols then him. Believe Hendrix already is.

247 has Mizzou, USC and UT listed as warmer. Everyone thinks he is USC bound. If we beat USC this weekend, I think itll be big momentum for us with Sawyer
