Tough to play that angle IMO. Brown weighs 100 pounds more than Fisher and while Fisher had 2 offers, Brown's list looks like a who's who contending for a national championship. Brown is not a diamond in the rough, the kid is a major recruit.

Wasn't talking about Brown specifically Lebs. Just saying CBJ will be incorporating another talking point into the general "come to Tennessee and we'll get you NFL-ready" spiel.

I could see that. Just have to hope it does not hurt us with some TE recruits. We may hear some "Don't go to TN of your a TE and 240lbs, they will turn you into an OT. Granted, some TEs might trade a move to OT to be #1 on draft boards. Fisher was an exception to how most situations like that play out.

CBJ's TE at Cincy, Kelce, first pick in 3rd round to the chiefs. That's a nice pick up. His film was great, our TEs are going to love CBJ offense.

I look forward to seeing a Tennessee offense that gets back to using the TE as a weapon in the offense. Rivera could have been so much more if our QB would have just looked for him a little more. The love of the deep ball IMO cost MR a lot of money.

Actually I forgot we already have Thomas. If we get Brown we only need 3 more OL's if we are taking 5 which I believe is what I read.

Is anyone else worried about this guy getting his doors blown off when he faces a guy with a decent speed rush and swim move? He's an absolute road grader but he seems very cumbersome in pass blocking..

The gene pool is strong in this class.

If he were starting as a Freshmen I would. However he would more than likely redshirt. Don't forget, even though we are losing our OL after this year there ARE some quality back ups there that will step up in 2014. Jackson, Posey, Pair, Crowder, Gilliam, Kerbyson, etc will all step up in 2014. We'll need O-lineman in this recruiting class for sure but they will mostly serve as depth unless someone is injured. I don't think our staff is expecting to have to start true freshmen on the OL next year. 1 year in our S&C program will do wonders for Brown.

Gerry Hamilton has done his crystal ball now as well. 100% to Tn. Yes he is a big project but isn't almost every lineman?

I say don't redshirt him. In games where we have a good lead or are getting beat on and plan to run the ball/clock out, let him get his reps. He will struggle early in pass coverage but as a run blocker I think he would be a weapon. Mid 4th when we are running out the clock, let him get 12-15 reps a game. If the kid is as talented as his offer list shows, he won't be around for 4-5 years anyway.

This guy could set the tone in our run blocking in a few years. Add a nasty big run blocker to our line. I like it.
