i say redshirt him. then the next year let him get reps while we are up

With the way our depth chart looks right now past the guys who will be gone before he makes it to campus, i say get him some game experience and reps as a true freshman, just in case he is playing a lot of snaps as a sophomore or even starting. It will only benefit him in getting used to the speed of SEC football.

we have 4 leaving, and 3 schollies and a walk on coming in.

if he only plays when we are up a lot, thats only going to be a few games. waste of an eligible year IMO

He does need to lose around 25 lbs which he will with better conditioning and eating . With that frame and ability watch out .

He will be in shape after he gets to campus. The specific diet and workouts will make it happen. We can't expect these kids to be completely developed in regards to fitness, skill, ect. High school programs don't have the knowledge, time or money to do this. IMHO.

5 leaving. Walk ons come in every year and shouldn't be considered part of the numbers when looking at needs.

4 that we know of. We don't yet know what Tiny's intentions are and there's no reason to presume anything until he makes it official.

Having said that, yeah I think he leaves after this year! :cray:

We won't have an option to redshirt any olinemen next yr and def not this guy. This is one that can help right away

Sorry to have to ask this, but what is usually looked at differently in OG and OT recruiting? Don't OTs need to be more agile and quick? If so, wouldn't Brown be a better OG than OT? Or is it his size that's projects him to OT? Thanks in advance

Better feet and more flexibility for OTs. Inside hands are very important on the inside. Important either way though.

UT is #1 on his list saw a tweet about it from a mom that lives in the area she asked him

and no i'm not going to give out the mom's twitter handle cause some of yall are crazy...no offense though
but, but, but pump your breaks VN. No need in exaggerating what the young man said, like VN Often does.

Which would give him LESS time in the weight room getting his body to be ready to be SEC ready in all facets except just being big. When you are not playing but doing a RS, you can spend all your time training instead of having to prepare for when you might be in the game.

Which is keeping the cycle we had with these guys when they had to play as freshman. Most good teams will have guys who have been in the program atleast three years starting on the line. We are behind until we are like that with the right depth. Yes, this is on the prior coaches for the way they recruited and ignored the OL future needs. Can you imagine if some of the guys who are seniors now were just in their junior year.

Unless guys get injured we should be able to redshirt if needed. At tackle we'll have Kerbyson, Posey, Pair, Sanders, and Kendrick. Not many linemen have the strength and conditioning to play as freshmen.
