'14 GA OL Orlando Brown (Signed with Oklahoma)

I don't know the kid's grades. He very well could be the one Matthews speculated about. But can we stop making accusations and opinions based on completely contrived untruths?

Hahaha that does not equate grade issues.

When you are talking about a recruit this close to signing day, what else could it mean? I'm sorry, but "taking care of the classroom", means either getting grades up or he is on the borderline and needs to finish strong as to not slide below the line.

I hope he makes it in, but to rip Bruin (in this case) is wrong. He is just echoing what has been said/reported.

I agree but it doesn't sound as badly as the perception given here

agreed! If it would have been worse, Hubbs' statement would have been a little more dire. IMO, the stmt just makes it seem like, if he does his thing and not slack off at the end, he will be fine.

With any luck Cory Thomas will make it in and this will improve.

I invite you to rewiew the Doug mathews says thread.

Let me know how many post I made there starting this smoke

This is the Orlando Brown thread.

You posted multiple times how Brown had grade issues and when asked to back up your claims, you could not.

You then blame others for making it seem worse than it is when the only one doing that in this thread is you. You made multiple posts on this page starting smoke.

It just gets tiresome

I am not blaming anybody.

There have been numerous posters interpret VQ repot as saying he has grade issues. I didn't start that thinking as accused of here.

Grades are obviously of some question. How much is the question. Doesn't seem very dire to me as VQ doesn't seem to suggest its very severe IMO but when a media member suggest we have a commit heading to juco its plenty fair to discuss this possibly.

Who is coach Matthews and why are we putting so much stock in what he says? JW

Matthews played for Vandy and later was an assistant for Johnny Majors at UT. He had some sort of issues with Vandy after leaving there and became a Tennessee backer. He and Phil Fulmer became best of friends and he was a regular around the practice field when Fulmer was coach. I attended some practices when Fulmer was coach and seen Matthews several times. Matthews seems to have had a lot of connections with the football staff for years so he has some credible sources. I went to the practices when Fulmer was there with a former player (under Majors) that was able to get me in to the practices at that time.

It is laughable that people hold their breath and hang on every word when Skeeter posts, but poo-poo what Doug Mathews has to say. Doug is the most connected person you will find outside of Dave Hart, Butch Jones, and Cuonzo Martin at the University of Tennessee.

Listened to him for the first time this morning and he said several things I havent heard anyone mention. Some was his opinion and some was facts he has picked up. It was very good and I enjoyed it very much.

Disagree, I've heard him be way off often when I used to listen to him, from recruiting to player evals, he's not as great as you make him sound.

Not wanting to argue, but Bruin is right, I don't know where the reports are on here, but I remember reading the same quotes. I think one of them said something how Bryant was looking good, but Weathered and Brown had work to do. Bruin ain't making it up, VQ has said there is some concerns.

Not wanting to argue either but show me the quotes. They would be in this thread.

"For early guys, Henderson and Creamer. Other than that, Weatherd has to have a really good semester. Bryant needs to continue to do well and Orlando Brown has some grade concerns, too. " -Fort

Is this a recent quote?
