The risk with JUCO PGs is there's usually only 2 or 3 who can come in and play right away...and they usually go to schools like Louisville or other big time programs. So if you wait that long and miss all together that would hurt.

I agree. I think Thompson will do well in my opinion. A year to learn will help. Then He'll have the year after in the starting spot. We do need a PG but if we can't get one that could challenge Thompson for his spot I think we may have to wait. You're right about the JUCO thing but a player could see an opportunity to come in and play in a big conference and start.

Mitchell currently claims scholarship offers from Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Memphis, UAB, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Cincinnati, Xavier, LaSalle, Miami and Marquette.

Mitchell has already taken visits to Wake Forest, UAB, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.

“I want to visit Cincinnati and I’ll probably go back to Tennessee,” Mitchell said. “I’ll probably go back to Alabama, Kansas State. If Indiana offers me I’ll probably go there too.”

Mitchell, a four-star prospect, said the next step in his recruitment is narrowing his list after the evaluation periods.

“I’m looking to make a top 10 by the end of July and then I think I’m going to commit so I can sign in the first period in November, but I don’t know,” Mitchell said.

Definitely, but how long can you afford to wait. After missing on Lyle, and apparently Richmond not having the grades...our PG board has really shrunk. Do you risk slow playing a guy like McCormick and losing him hoping that you end up with Mitchell.

At this point I'm not sure I feel good enough about our chances with Mitchell to do that.

Mitchell said that Kansas State, Wake Forest, Alabama and Butler are showing the most interest at this point however he is not ready to narrow things down and is wide open to any school that shows interest."




Worth noting North Carolina was in attendance and is reportedly close to offering.
