'14 GA PG Devin Mitchell

The fact he hasn't visited this summer is a bit odd to me. He seemed to really be happy about the Tennessee offer, and genuinely interested in Tennessee. However, since that offer he's unofficialy visited about 10 schools and none have been Tennessee. Now I don't know, maybe he has plans to visit soon, but that's just kind of stuck out to me a bit.

Wanna clarify something here, I didn't realize it, but Mitchell attended last years elite camp, so he has been to Knoxville and seen the campus/facilities. So that makes a little more sense why he seemed very high on the Tennessee offer, but hasn't visited this summer.

How many does rivals show him with?

Mitchell has over 20 offers so not sure where you're coming up with this...

So what is it you're trying to say, his trips are being illegally funded and that no matter what school he chooses its likely he will be ruled ineligible due to receiving impermissible benefits?
Benefit of the doubt.
Many don't know the rules on official paid visits.

So without knowing Mitchell at all, you've decided to assume he's receiving illegal benefits and taking trips to schools he has offers from that would ultimately make him ineligible?

Wow.

Not just Mitchell anyone that takes that many trips is suspect. He may have done nothing wrong but doesn't mean it doesn't look suspicious for a high school player to be able to afford 10 or more unofficial visits. The chances of getting caught are minimal less than 5 percent as the player would be the one that would have to tell. The guys with the money would never come forward no matter what school he chooses. This is nothing new has happened for the last forty or more years.

Wow dude, you need to just stop.

How do you know Micthell doesn't come from a fairly well off family?

He drives to these schools and spends the night at most, so you're talking $100 in gas, $50 room, $50 for food. So $200 a trip is very plausible, and I know for a fact a few of the trips he has tagged along with buddies visiting those schools.

If one of my boys had been gifted enough to get a sports scholarship, he'd of used my plastic for as many unofficials as he could muster.
Much cheaper than 4 years of tuition.

If anyone keeps up with recruiting they would know that these trips are now the norm for almost all the good players. Football players do even more traveling. Look at how many out of pocket trips have been made to Knoxville since Coach Jones took over.

$50 for a room? Staying at some questionable motels ....IMO

I stayed at a lot of decent hotels when I was visiting schools/doing interviews. I know I didn't spend more than 49.99 + respective state tax.
