If you hate it that much you should probably stop following recruiting on message boards

He's enjoying his moment! Kids only get to go through the recruiting process once, so they want to make the most of it. Nothing wrong with that. Besides, when McDowell picks Tennessee, it gives us exposure. It's win win.

No, I simply prefer kids who do it like a man, with some modesty and class. And dont give me "they're only 17 year old kids, etc" mess. All 9 of our current recruits did it the right way IMO.

Jalen Hurd, a top 10 rated player in the country called Butch, announced commitment on twitter, sought no attention, just started repping UT and recruiting potential teammates. Didnt need a televised ceremony, didnt need national/local tv, no cakes, no fanfare, no nothing.

If you prefer the pomp and circumstance fine... not me.

Just opposing opinions. Didn't say I was necessarily right, just that I prefer kids doing it a different way. Maybe it's the taunting nature of his tweet, of Hamilton's tweet. Just personally don't like it. All 9 of our guys so far have committed with class and humility ... the right way to do it IMO.

Tell us how you really feel KB. :)

Yea because you wouldn't have enjoyed taking in the moment as a junior in high school. I'm fine with anything these kids do. It's their choice. His tweet showed no bit of classlessness. Your post did.

Some kids its not all about a hat. This is a prospect who values the once in a lifetime opportunity and want to make the right decision for his future. If you really pay attention to Cortez he hasn't been to any football showcases or been on recruiting videos talking about me,me,me. This is a kid who we really need at UT. By the way, because a kid who commits early doesn't mean they are doing it the right way. Some of those kids do not even stick to their commitments at the end of the day. Remember you are a fan, you won't be the one there for that kid at the during hard times. You only accept recruits for the four years that they are there after they graduate and or go pro you won't care about them after they are gone.

Dude stfu. This is the first thing he's mentioned about a possible announcement. It's not even that arrogant.

Stfu? Uh, lemme think..... no. Not necessarily trying to just single him out. Either way, I still hate that me me me hat ceremony some kids do. The overwhelming majority of kids don't do it. I, me personally, don't like it. You like it, fine. Get on here and sing the virtues of it.

I'd love to have the kid and hope he's the 4 star def player they were talking about a couple weeks ago who was gonna commit but wanted to wait til the O&W Game. He may commit just like the other guys, who knows. But either way, I'm still gonna hate that "hat ceremony" crap.

How about that 51? Had a different view and didn't even tell you to gtfo.

He barely stirs any drama at all on his twitter and you're acting like he's having a LeBron special. It's not fair to him.

Hey GA, don't disagree at all. I'm not questioning these kids' hearts or even intentions. This is very simple and really not particularly important. I just have a personal preference for the more humble approach to committing. He seems like a good kid, a damn talented kid. Would love to have him be a Vol.

I just like the, in my opinion, classy way that Vic, Todd, Neiko, Jalen, Coleman, Trayvon, D'Andre, Ethan and Lawrence have done it so far. That's all

Nice post. Although I do adamantly follow Vols in the NFL :) Know 95% of them, even though I haven't been extensively following the program but for the last 5 or so years.

So do we think this guy, Truitt, and Gaulden commit over the weekend or sometime next week after they've gone home? :)

I think there is a good shot at least one of them commits. I'm no insider though, so your guess is as good as mine.

Hopefully all three, really like all three players. Lots of speed and playmaking ability. I think two are Vols, Truitt is IMO, a vol lean, 75% chance at this moment.

I think Gaulden and McDowell are the two most likely.

I know Gaulden isn't the highest rated guy right now but I really like him as a CB prospect. He's got a ton of potential and I think he will end up being a pretty highly rated (5.8 or 5.9 4 star on rivals) recruit down the road.

I know it's been said many times but this is going to be an amazing DB class, maybe the best since I've been following recruiting.
