Gotta say they are doing it right. Recruits like Cortez need a guy that has been around to show them the Tennessee way with CBJ/staff. Glad BM and him are tight.

“Coach Martinez and I have been together since my sophomore year when he was at Auburn,” McDowell said. “It is a great thing still being connected with him even though he moved from school to school. It is still good to be around him. He is a great guy to be with.”
McDowell, a 6-foot-2, 203 lbs, is one of the top safety prospects in the 2014 class with offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee among others.
“Everything was great,” he said. “I got to sit down and talk with my coaches a little more —Coach Martinez, Coach Jones, I talked to them a lot more. I got to talk with Coach Jancek too.
McDowell likes Jones’ vision for the Tennessee program and was impressed with what he has been able to get done in just a few short months on The Hill.

It sounds like to me we might have a real shot at this guy. Would love to have McDowell and Kelly Jr as our safeties and then maybe Gaulden at Corner and Smith at Linebacker.

Get him and TKjr at safeties and get the berry twins at corner. Man that would be one tough D, not to mention we could get Bates at one linebacker and Hamilton at the other. I'm liking this year already and football season hasn't even started!!!
