2014 is going to be another "not so good" season, better, but still lacking. We know this going in so put the freshest boots on the ground, meaning every 14 recruit you can field and let them do what they do, good bad or indifferent. 14 should be the NCAAs largest training class. Then sit back and watch 15 and 16 come to maturity.
I'm going to have to disagree. For me, the only big question mark is the OL since we'll have everyone graduate, and Tiny to the NFL (which I still think he goes at this point). But I think every single position gets better except the OL and K/P. If we have good coaches, we'll find out. I have high expectations for next season.
I don't think our Oline is going to take a step back from a pass blocking stance but they will be a lot better run blocking. The backups are a lot more aggressive and will be better run blockers. We have Blair coming in, Marcus Jackson is still here, Austin Sanders, and Wiesman will give us a nice blend of experience and youth. Heck I forgot about Crowder. We won't be as experience at OL but I do feel we will be just fine and they will play together just fine by the Oklahoma game.
Tiny and James are potential first day picks in the NFL draft. Zach Fulton won't be that far behind them. James Stone will also go in the draft, IMO. I'm not saying these guys have been world-beaters this year, but from a talent perspective, we will be taking a step back.
I agree. We need olineman that want to pound people in the groundPotential and athletic ability, I agree. The majority of 2014 starters will have 2 years with the same coach, verbage, and S&C. Much less, if the reports were true coming out of spring, most of them seem to be nastier than our present day starters. These 5 guys are nice guys, but they aren't very aggressive, imo.
