'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Lol. Thanks, for relaying to us what we already have read from the Keith Niebuhr article

I have no idea what Keith Niebuhr said. That is basically the situation. I guess Keith is a pretty smart man. Auburn did not "come out of nowhere". They have continued recruiting players that they were high on early but lost out on. Auburn's season will make these kids re-think their decision.

Sure all of this is possible. It's also possible while he was tweeting Weatherd that the pizza man came to the door so he didn't finish tweeting. Or maybe his favorite part of Charlie's Angels came on so he stopped to watch.

I think it's more of the silence from VQ that has people worried. Fort or Hubbs hasn't come out and said, "just talked to him and he confirmed he is all Vol." Or anything of the sort.

Lambert's versatility to play inside or out makes him an immediate impact player. Losing a player like that starts a domino effect that could set us back 2-3 more years or longer. And by domino effect, I'm not talking string of decommittments.

Lambert could come in next year and immediately improve our line play. Improved line play helps the lbs and the secondary, all adding up to a better D. A better D contributes to more wins. More wins gives CBJ something more substantial to sell recruits. Better recruits help us improve more quickly. It's all about building blocks. A JuCo like Lambert is a cornerstone in the foundation of what Butch is trying to build.

And your calm down line made me laugh. Don't worry, I'm not worked up. Worked up will be posters coming out of the woodwork should Lambert flip. Then you'll see irrationality at its finest.

You're overemphasizing the importance of his commitment. We have a lot of talented blue chip D-linemen coming in the cycle. Hendrix, Barnett, Henderson, Thomas, and Mosley are all potential impact players. Carr, Saulsberry, Vereen, and O'Brien should be ready to go. We are adding a JUCO DT in Owen Williams, and I'm sure can add any JUCO D-linemen we may need in the 2015 class. Will Lambert decommitting hurt? Absolutely, but not to the level you are going on with.

Then what are you basing your take on? Are you going to claim to be an insider again this year?

You still didn't read my post. That is in no way a possibility.

That is the story that is coming out of Auburn. Auburn feels fairly good about their chances of flipping Lambert but the kid is hard to read and has been telling people varying things during the entire process. I'm sure your coaches felt pretty good about their chances of keeping him going into last night's visit but who knows what they feel now considering that the situation has gone silent. You guys are right that this silence probably isn't a great sign for UT but I wouldn't be surprised if he kept his commitment at all.

I think we all saw the difference with how CBJ handled Josh Malones commitment. The kid didn't even wanna come here in the summer but CBJ didn't give up and it payed off. Go vols!

I think all Vol fans who follow recruiting have a reason concerned. We have seen this act before

I agree, but we haven't faced this fight with butch at the helm. This guy has been committed for months. Loves our class. Has said several times he's solid and I believe in butch. He'll get it done for us as he's shown all throughout recruiting this year

CBJ shouldn't negatively be judged on this outcome in anyway. If we lose lambert I won't worry in the least about this becoming a trend

Butch has to win battles like Lambert if he's going to amount to much more than Derek Dooley. Looks to be a rinse and repeat version of what we saw with Dooley and D-linemen for 3 years.

In your opinion. My opinion is different. My opinion is Lambert is the most important DL recruit in this class. So let's agree to disagree.
